Base camp is moved to a spot an easy walk away from the Ohio River side of the confluence. About 75 miles by road. Much shorter by river. I found this spot yesterday and even my support dog recognized it with approval when we pulled in. If I translated her soft shakes and tail wags correctly. . .

No carpet here!!! Her opinion of motel carpet is even lower than mine. Get my nose a-twitchin like a Free Law campaigner in a foreign bar. . .

If your support dog approves, then it is definitely To. If dogs could speak, I would trust their opinions much quicker than I would trust the human species. Cats would be much fonder of old motel carpet than would dogs I believe.

To the best of my knowledge, domestic cats don't range far enough for this foolish old wanderer, so my ignorance of them is pretty profound. Nothing personal. We just move in different circles. I've done too much work with animal rescue to try any of the big cats. The conditions to which most of life is amazing, but it takes generations to breed the wild out of most creatures. Not sure I'd trust a puma in my bitch seat. . . No offense, Leo. . .

Disney cartoons, they ain't, but I do believe my dog talks to me all the time, and I listen as well as my human limitations allow.

None taken, and cats are actually incredibly sensitive to stinky stuff. The average cat's sense of smell (domestic cat) is actually better than many breeds of domestic dog. (Scent hounds obviously excepted!) The cats (and some dogs) will then try to cover the scent with their own via urine in some cases, or by scratching the carpet to "kill" the stink. Cats also get allergies to things like nasty stinky things, including mold and mildew (as we discovered in one lousy apartment we lived in, ugh).

My dogs have been excellent companions. So have my cats. Whatever works. I had one of each sleeping on my bed with me as a kid.

Always trust your dog. They know when you need them, how are the good people in life, and if the dog approves, it is ok. I am just so happy to have my little guy. Not sure what I would do without him. He is my best friend, be comforts me, makes me laugh, forces me outside, and is always happy to see me. Dogs are great

i hate carpet it might be warm but you can keep everything out . i love outdoors hugs min glad you found it

    I did the dumbest thing today.  I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds.  I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym.  What a dummy!
