I think eldest son, 36, has memorized all the Toxic People web sites. I am not the only "Toxic Mother" in the position of hearing the quotes played like a Top 40 Hit Parade from dependant-children From teens to middle-aged. Unless they need something, of course. As soon as the immediate need is met, they get back to playing their favorite Top 40 Hit Parade. Can you please pick one and make it work? Either dump me and leave me in peace or ? ? ? At least quit wiggling your perfect, non-toxic fingers in my infected wounds.

Is there any science, whatsoever, behind the Toxic People diagnosis? I have surfed a few of the millions pages on the subject and . . . Lots of advanced degrees, but. . . I am not finding any bibliographies referencing the studies. My son assures me I can't be objective because I am who they are pointing their expert fingers at.

How bout it? Is there any science behind it? Once you have been declared "Toxic" is there any point to continuing therapy? Does the "Toxic" declaration disqualify me for humane PTSD support?

Is there such a thing as a non-toxic human? My science background indicates that all life forms create toxins. Even middle-aged-children.

Sorry for the venting, but the question is sincere:
Is there any science behind the Toxic People wisdom? Is it an official diagnosis?

Leo, Your memory is quite accurate. I didn't know that Seeba was a breed when he wandered into my life ?20? years ago as a young adult of uncertain age. I nearly slipped into poetic psychosis when I found out years later that Seeba was a shiba. He was with me for 18 years.

I mourned his passing right here, in this very forum.

He really did purr. Canine purr therapy is a thing worthy of missing.

It is said in Japan that shibu inus choose their own companions. Master? Owner? You don't know shiba inus.
