Not much in the state of mind to put on my Official Fact Checker Hat today for the wages I am receiving at this moment in my career, but. . .
Somewhere, fairly recently, in the midst of my current Domestic Drama, somebody mentioned, "Detachment." It caught me off-guard because I haven't participated in discussions of "Detachment" since ---???--- the onset of the "Toxic People" trend? Find myself wanting to renew the discussion.
Anybody wanna join?
In recent live discussions, we have been discussing "Internal Switches" in terms of healing doesn't happen until the injured soul is ready to let it happen. "Some switches are Internal Access Only."
Launching from that context, my current definition of "Detachment" is that poking at the surface parts is not going to gain me access to somebody else's "Internal Switches."
Strictly my personal definition of the moment.
Sure would love to hear other strictly personal definitions of "Detachment." Putting up a vote for no hot links or copy and past. Just a vote.
Just hoping. . .

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

A horrible way of saying...
Detachment: to let go what is not mine to hold. It may have been once, but things change, and people's needs change.
I used to think detachment was a dirty word. Now... I am struggling to re-define it.
THank you for the mental gnaw-bone.
My current understanding of "detachment" is not wall building. It leaves room for other potentials while not letting myself get sucked down the drain with a drowning victim. Lets me be hurt without giving up on love? Maybe I could put it as, "Owning what is mine to sort and trusting you with what is yours to sort." Maybe.
Chew. . . Chew. . .
The thing that has allowed me to do this is to stay grounded in how I have lived my life and separating what others have done to me or treated me. My eyes are dripping a bit right now and that is because I have stopped pretending that I am Superman. I will have my difficulties for the rest of my life. But I am still going to live life to the fullest, one way or the other.
I takes a lot to do those classes out of me and the month of anni's and other things out of my control, meant Wall-E in place to sort, eval keep or toss what ever was in front of my goals.well I need to be set apart to cope. For me that is a detachment of sort from the social world I don't always trust to be kind.
No interference or a chance of my feelings being more frayed than they are.
One, I think of the weird almost out of body experience I get sometimes. Almost feels like a detachment to reality, but perhaps it's actually attaching to reality that is happening. A reality that we don't really realize. Like what is above us, watching us, around us.
Two, detaching from those who have hurt me, even though I still love them. Keeping my distance to protect what hasn't been crushed.
Three, general detachment from the norm, from being a couple or a family, from any groups of people that formally assemble from my previous career and coworkers and way of life. From the need for material things and shopping for things I don't need. From my own ego. From the human race.
