This morning finds me grateful for the closure of the Bee Experiment, for the show of the FILs base nature. It is always difficult to stay faithful to my own family business while watching the constant presence of the ever present knife behind that politically affable demeanor of the great-grandfather. The experiment was a great experience on many levels and I will miss many of the people I have met here, but, hey... Lifelong wanderer here... Moving on is the story of my life. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hOpvJ4PHysk My beloved and I get to keep the wonderful progress made in our relationship and we get to eliminate the FIL from our business. I think. I hope? Again I am drying my beloved's tears and it is not mine to sort. I am trying to keep my focus on simply supporting my beloved as he tries, once more, sift through his personal family confusion. Mine is not to understand. Mine is to sit with him as he comes to understand himself.
Again, my "Courage to Change" reader adds a significant passage to the morning meditations.
"Sometimes I become so bogged down with dissatisfaction that I can't see where I am or where I'm going. When I take time to 'Think,' I realize that negativity keeps my life at a standstill. It helps to remember that, while it's good to acknowledge whatever I feel, I have a choice about where to focus my attention. I'm challenged to find positive qualities in myself, my circumstances, and other human beings. As I seek support, list the things I am grateful for and talk with my supporters, these attributes become apparent - if I'm willing to see them.
I believe I have a beautiful spirit that has been created for some purpose. The people and situations I encounter each day also have beauty and purpose. I can begin to look for the positive in everything I do and see. The perspective I've gained by doing so has shown me that some of the most difficult times in my life have produced the most wonderful changes.
Today's reminder
It may be difficult to break a long-established pattern of depression, doom-sayings and complaining, but it's worth the effort. I'll replace a negative attitude with a positive one today.
"Sometimes I go about pitying myself
And all the while I am being carried across the sky
By beautiful clouds." ~Ojibway Indian saying
