Even with Ivy League degrees and all the social blessings, Environmental Science and Conservation are dicey careers. It remains far more profitable to destroy our Spaceship Earth than to heal or care for Her.
For a gutter rat from the underbelly of the U.S. agricultural system? Who am I kidding? I wasn't able to finish High School, much less gain the respect of governing bodies.
But, here I am near the Old River Control Complex, feeling like a run-away-housewife again. It's more than a feeling. The evidence is in my previous posts. Don't even want to admit I have access to hubby's corporate gain, much less use it to rent a boat. I think I still have access. Fact is I have been running on the stash from my VA disability pension. It ain't much to go on. For all I know, hubs has started the divorce games and I am already cut off. Don't much care. His foundation is Big Texas Oil and selling family farms to international investors. It never has settled well with my conservationist senses.
The impoverished ag-center nearest the complex doesn't have any 5-star accommodations. I am currently sitting in a room in the local crack house, typing by the glare of a bare bulb, trying to figure my next move.
Support needed. My support dog's fur can't hold any more tears.

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Guess not. . . Here comes another round.
The Cajuns are complaining about the increased salt in their swamp water.
Would have seemed symbolically appropriate...

I went there prior to Rita and Ike, I hope it's still as nice as I remember.
If you go, insect repellent needed, the mosquitoes need FAA clearance for takeoff.
Lots of 5 acre royalty in my own blood-line. . . What right do I have to put it down?
Wild plants are my own specialty, but I have great respect for the natural residents, as well. Not so much for the bi-ped immigrants. Meet my most famous start up team to date: https://www.wildflower.org/ . I scouted with them in the 80s. They have been too civilized for my social skills for quite some time, but I remain quite proud of them.
I feel stronger already for the local touch and the global share. I so often feel like the soon-to-be roadkill blinded by the brights of our mobile gridlock. Thank you for the glimpse unity and hope, looney.
Think we, collectively, can ever let life be bigger than human progress?
Watch our feather babies with awe, Looney. I am convinced they can "hear" a listener and know when they are being appreciated.
Don't you dare tell my med pros I said that. Not an academically approved faith. They have legally mandated pharmaceuticals for it in the U.S.
