As nelliefay writes, journal, vent here, read through anxiety board posts for ideas that will help you sort through the feelings and learn how anxiety can mix up the symptoms.
You are not alone.
Being aware of your anger is important step towards healing.
Best wishes!
Yes i had major anger isuues all my life...
"there anything good about anger? Anger can be uncomfortable. Our cultures view of anger may contribute to our difficulties with this complicated emotion. We often regard anger as the ugly stepchild of emotions, making it less acceptable to express than sadness or anxiety. The result: we dont always learn how to handle our anger constructively. Yet, when managed with care and attention, anger can be a force for reflection and even the impetus for major breakthroughs in how we feel and live our lives."
Gee, anger is a human emotion. Bottling it up is destructive because eventually it does come out and usually in a destructive way--to oneself and to others.
Last Thursday night, had a real major bout of anger--first in quite a while. Instinctively, I shadow-boxed for an hour. Gee, that felt good. (No, not a boxer...but that would be great training.)
Let it out. Have found that once I start letting it out, I get far less confused about what's causing all the pain and any other difficult emotion.
P.S. Before I started allowing anger to come out, I was numb my entire life, or, at best, I was like a cute little puppet for others.
I see a therapist once a week and a psychiatrist once a month. I can't see where they are helping me. I have cut myself off from the world. I don't have a friend. I don't want any friends.
It has been almost a year since I had a gun held to my head and made to get down on the floor spread eagle. I am 65 years old and have fibromalgia and believe me I forgot all about my pain when I hit the floor.
I feel like I am a walking time bomb. I come to this site every day and read what is written. This topic is what I needed today. Thank you everyone for posting. Peggy
Sometimes people are just toxic, and we need to learn how to forgive them for our sakes.
In the few weeks, my book on forgiveness will be on the www.volumesdirect.com website. It is called "Forgive me, forgive me not."
I have two other books on the same website, "Ignite the Do Within You" and "The Bitter Journey of Alzheimer's."
