Hello everyone,DS members.
I am quite unaware of what is next to come or what to do. I am baffled and amazed. There is no particular word but I just needed to say this:
I faced my enemy yesterday. I gave my testimony at Court. I wasn't able to sleep much since my head is still spinning. I have not been able to digest/process what has happened. It was the most crucial, life-altering, terrifying experience in my life. I mean, it couldn't get more personal and interrogated than that. I am amazed on how I kept composure in such a place, I felt that my heart was at my throat yet I had the confident assurance of my attorney at all times.
As much as this part of my life is coming to a close, something(s) still feel incomplete or out of place. I am not whole. I feel overwhelmed and exhausted. I've had the best support thus far, but it's been agonizing, to say the least, without my the love and comfort from my parents. I continue to see how God has brought me to a place of commonality and of comfort. I am honored.
Your support is truly appreciated.
I cannot continue on this journey of recovery and healing without you guys. This is the mushiest I will be, so I leave this for anyone to respond.

It is a privilege to bear witness to your healing journey, Kat.
Where to go from here? I have so often asked myself that question after a change, many times life altering changes,... the answer, for me, has simply been 'forward'.
Warm thoughts.
" I am amazed on how I kept composure."
It's not only great you did it. It's great how you let it amaze you.
You amaze us here, too. We are PROUD of you.
No, this isn't the final destination in the healing journey. But what a commitment.
We are honored to support you. Congratulations and blessings upon you, Kat!
Your strength and courage is remarkable, and your ability to face your abuser is beyond any word I can express...
It is time to nurture, love, respect, and appreciate...
For me, it is candlelight and a fluffy sweater... It is listening to my cat purr while I stroke her... It is dining on something I enjoy at home with myself in celebration of an accomplishment....
I honor you, more than you could ever know...
Your voice spoke for all of those who cannot speak for themselves...
My heart to you, Lila...
