Polycystic kidney disease (PKD) is a progressive, genetic disorder of the kidneys. It occurs in humans and other organisms. PKD is characterised by the presence of multiple cysts (polycystic) in both kidneys. The disease can also damage the liver, pancreas and rarely the heart and brain.
I'm at Stage 4 now, I believe - GFR is 23. I find myself getting very tired, I can't seem to do more than one thing in a day and if I spend 2 days out I'm absolutely exhausted. Does/Has anyone found they are so fatigued at this stage? I'm also 63 and have a few stressful things going on so I never know what's what. My concentration isn't what it used to be either.

attitude is everything and being positive or negative impacts everything in your life.
Alicia, only your mother can change her attitude. if she chooses to be negative it isn't dialysis that is causing it. visit any dialysis center and see how many patients are coping, some will joke around with each other and the staff, while others sit quietly, read, watch tv, do handwork or whatever. guess which ones will have the best outcomes.
