A panic attack is a period of intense fear or discomfort, typically with an abrupt onset and usually lasting no more than thirty minutes. Symptoms include trembling, shortness of breath, heart palpitations, sweating, nausea, dizziness, hyperventilation, and sensations of choking or smothering. Panic attacks can be very sudden, appear to be unprovoked, and are often...
So my problem is that I am experiencing panic attacks while I'm rehearsing scenes for musicals. I absolutely love preforming, I'm a dancer and singer even though there's a lot that's wrong with me.
So after saying that does anyone have advice on like 'delaying' my panic attacks? Or at least hide it if I am on stage and I start having one. I would love to be able to get to the point where I'm not experiencing them at all but for now I just need them to not happen while I'm on stage.
I understand that it's a bit of a weird request, but it's something that needs to happen for me. I'm a quiet kid who hates it when people compliment her and people stare at me when I'm like "Oh yeah, I am a loud theater person who loves the spotlight!" The last thing I need is it getting out to like other theaters that I had a panic attack while on stage. No one is gonna want to hire a kid who has multiple problems with her that she can't control
So, I'm open to any and all suggestions✨✨

I'm horrified! I knew my insurance would go up due to getting a new car but I didn't expect it to go up over $2,000. I did have an accident with the snow/ice in the winter. I was just telling my brother that I have had my car since March 2, 2026 and have only spent $75 on an oil change. Now this! I called another insurance company and their quote was over $4,000. I guess I have to pay...

The thing is, no one can *see* a panic attack happening on you. We might feel a little sweaty, fidgety.... but no one is noticing or thinking anything about it. I can almost guarantee you that no one will know if you have a panic attack.
People are much more into themselves! People don't pay that much attention to what other people are doing. This is something I have learned from many decades of life.
One suggestion would be don't look at the audience right away. Just go out there and do your thing, as if you were dancing and singing in your living room. Be in the moment. When you are ready, only when you feel like it, take a quick look at the audience. I am sure you will see lots of smiling, happy faces. They are enjoying your performance. They are having a good time, and you are providing that good time.
It's hard, I know, but when we stop caring what others think of ourselves so much, we can go about our life and do our own thing. And, a lot of this stuff we kind of grow out of, as we encounter more people throughout life. So it doesn't mean you're always going to be like this.
There are also some good books on anxiety, and panic attacks. You could look for some and read those, to get more tips. I have also seen some good YouTube videos regarding anxiety attacks and panic attacks, social anxiety. They are all free videos and you can start watching them right away. You could also search on YouTube for things like "getting over stage fright". There will be some helpful tips on there.
You are doing great!
