hi!
I’m 18 years old and began having anxiety about 9 months ago when I began college. It was just minor/typical anxiety (before meeting with professors or during presentations), so I began taking Zoloft. About 2 weeks after that, I started having panic attacks and pretty much the worst anxiety I’ve ever experienced in my life. Everyday was a struggle, I felt anxious just getting out of bed and going downstairs where the rest of my family was.
I began seeing a holistic psychiatrist (in January) who put me on A LOT of supplements including CBD oil and took me off all my prescription drugs(Prozac and Zoloft). My anxiety and depression improved a lot but my body still felt lazy and just not strong at all.
my mental health continued to improve until about 2 weeks ago. I started having panic attacks again :( I’ve been a wreck ever since. My depression is so bad it’s scary. I’ve never been suicidal until now. My anxiety rules my life which makes me so depressed. I’m trying to do this holistically but at this point it feels like nothing is working for me, which is why my thoughts automatically go to just dying because at least I’d be relieved of this.
Yesterday, I was a basket case. I cried for hours. I seriously felt like a crazy person because I knew that this wasn’t me but for some reason I just couldn’t shake it. I contemplated checking myself in to a psychiatric facility because of it.
I just feel like I’ve literally lost my mind. I can barely eat or sleep, and everyday tasks feel like a tremendous feat.
Anyone else feel the same way or have been there and found a way to dig themselves out? Id do anything at this point,l. The only thing that really helps me is Ativan which I don’t even have a prescription for but some of my family members do. My holistic psychiatrist doesn’t want to prescribe anything but not sure how much longer I can fight this on my own without breaking:/ any thoughts, help, or support would truly be appreciated.

I'm horrified! I knew my insurance would go up due to getting a new car but I didn't expect it to go up over $2,000. I did have an accident with the snow/ice in the winter. I was just telling my brother that I have had my car since March 2, 2026 and have only spent $75 on an oil change. Now this! I called another insurance company and their quote was over $4,000. I guess I have to pay...

We will get through this together!! :)
And its harder because not many people can understand why people turn to substances for help. They say its bad and youll get addicted and ruin your life, but thats the same thing that prescription pills do! They cant see that because it seems that people have been brainwashed into thinking prescription drugs help everything and everyone. Im a firm believer in doing whatever works for you in order to survive...obviously the goal is to not have to use anything to ease pain but sometimes in severe cases that just isnt possible.
Thank you for your admiration!! Haha, its definitely the harder route but ive had bad experiences with prescription meds so it just felt right to do it this way..but definitely much harder.
CBD oil is great!!!! I actually learned from my doctor that my cannabinoid system is only functioning at 50% of what it should be. Which, as ive learned from her and some extensive reading online, can trigger anxiety, depression, and even some skin conditions(which makes sense, i recently had a psoriasis break out for the first time since i was a child.)but, ive also read online that cbd can cause adverse effects when stopped all of a sudden—which i did when i went on vacay cus i forgot my oil. So i would keep that in mind if you do choose to use cbd oil. Dont just stop all of a sudden, but taper down bit by bit.
But yes! Cbd oil is great, i started using it in january with a lot of other supplements, and all of that practically healed all of my bodies dysfunctions, including anxiety—obviously until i had stopped it all of a sudden.
Thank you so much for your suggestions and your kind words, they really did resonate with me and im going to reach out to some people! ❤️
