Thanks for the info steffer, and I hope this finds you whole healthy happy and pain free! Now ain't that quite the wish list? There was a time when that wouldn't have been such a big deal but these days it's an almost impossible list to fill. I'm so sick of being sick. I suspect I know why the mortality rate for this disease is so high the first 7 years! I'm having a hard time with my family unit these days as well. I know how taxing my problems can be for them so it's hard for me to even defend myself at times when disagreements crop up. It's got to get better sometime, I mean come on it can't always be bad now can it. Well hopefully I will hear something good from the pain doctor on monday. Still waiting for word back from wifes insurance company, maybe a couple more trips to the emergency room will help them make up their minds! Be well and pain free my friend. Troy

I am one of those with chronic pancreatitis who has bouts of pain.

The bouts can be there for hours or days or months and then they chill out and only act up every so often.

A great deal of the time it has to do with what Ive eaten.

i noticed too ,that certain things i eat make the pain worse, like ice cream(which i absolutely love)

Hey steffer leave that ice cream alone unless it is fat free and even then your still dealing with a double dose of dairy, have you tried replaceing it with sherbert? I know it doesn't taste the same but it is better for you and might not start you to hurting. Just a thought. So how ya doin? I watch too much tv, that's off a cartoon. lol....I know a man my age watching cartoons, I guess if regular tv wasn't so damned depressing I might watch it, but these days cartoons seem to fit my mood better. I have to get out more this is ridiculous. Got an appt monday to see my pain doc about getting the pain pump test done and hopefully after that works then the pump next. Just got both insurance companies on board friday so lets hope everything flies straight and true. Later ....Troy

hey troy, i am so happy for you, you will be in my thoughts that all goes good for trial. then maybe u can get back to life (the real life) and it that the truth about tv, i swear if i see any more adds for more reality tv shows i am going to pull my hair out ,i cant believe that people actually are not completely embarrassed when they see themselves afterwards ,but they r probably laughing all the way 2 the bank getting paid to act like a jacka--.i will give sherbert a try, i haven't had for a long time ,i have 2 try and curb those cravings for m&m blizzards at dairy queen,take care-steffer

I was CP diagnosed 2 years ago and still don't have any pain. I can eat almost everything. The only symptom that I have is some discomfort on my stomach, and depends of what I eat sometimes have glucose levels over than normal but is very rare. Other than that I'm ok but very very confused and frustrated with my CP.

If you can do all those things and have no pain then you might want to get a second opinion on your diagnosis as I've not heard of someone just diagnosed with cp being able to do all that and not wind up hurting big time. If that is the case then you are blessed, and more power to you but like I said I'd get a second opinion, you might have one of the myraid other problems our gastro intestional tract can throw at us. Have you had your gall bladder checked or removed yet? Sorry if I seem nosy but we all try to jump in and help on this forum right away if you feel offended just don't answer no one will be upset over it. I wish you many more pain free days......

Sanchez I am happy for you to be pain free especially if you can eat anything, how did you get diagnosed? What tests were done, I am wondering too that you may need a second opinion as it doesn't sound like CP I hope for you that it is not , have you had acute attacks?

Hope all goes well with the pain pump Troy British daytime TV is pretty awful too lol! We have a show called Jeremy Kyle they dredge up the most awful sleazy people who air their dirty laundry in public agh it's so depressing lol! Cartoons are much more uplifting! I will definitely try sherbet do you think I could be a real kid and dip loco rice on it or is that just a Limey habit lol! Warm hugs Debbie

I saw alot of british tv via the bbc when I was in Saudi arabia back in 1980 and got completely hooked on alot of comedies, Are you being served was always a good one as well as many others but I'm not sure what daytime tv is like there now, probably as bad as it is here, but like I said I now know the cartoon channels by heart. lol, guess i'm reverting in my life cycle already thought that wasn't supposed to happen for awhile longer but cp being what it is maybe I should just go with it...thanks for all the kind words Deb, be well and pain free.........Troy

Hi Troy spell check on the iPhone is a bit off, should have said liquorice still not sure if I have spelt it correctly it's sticky black coloured aniseed flavoured sweet ( candy ). Very yummy dipped in sherbet . My cousin trained as a pilot in Kissamee where he was affectionately known by all as Limey Field lol!
Yes the Brit comedies are fab especially the older ones. I recently saw a film at the cinema or should I say movies I think it's a Britsh one it's called ' the Best Golden Marigold Hotel' if you can find it there do see it it's hilarious and Giod knows we need it!

I will have to see if I can find the movie, yes the old comedies are to funny and I don't know how many people I've gotten hooked on them since I first saw them back in 80. I've seen alot of things with sherbet but liquorice is a new one on me, I like both so I would guess I would probably like that also, have to try it out sometime. Got my trial for the pain pump scheduled today so in a couple of weeks I will be trying out the pump to see if it works for me. I truly hope so as from all I've heard it can be a game changer for alot of folks with this disease. I have to get up and out more and unless I can get this pain under control I know it won't happen so hopefully I'm on my way with this upcoming trial. Now I'll quit babbling for a bit. :-)

Hi Troy, in Engkand they sell sherbet fountains which is sherbert with a stick of liquorice in it! All my hopes and prayers are with you for the pain pump to give you the relief you deserve. Have you seen a programme called 'only fools and horses' I don't know how well the humour will translate but it has me in stitches! Be strong Troy.

Deb24, I was diagnosed 2 years ago with CP after 2 ultrasounds and 1 MRI shows calcifications on my pancreas. All these test was performed because I start to loose weight with no reason. Since then I'm on Creon 12/24, vitamins, and almost a year taking Actos.

Sanchez, thanks for your reply. I am so glad for you that you not get pain with your CP and pray that continues. How is your weight mow?
