Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a psychiatric disorder, more specifically, an anxiety disorder. OCD is manifested in a variety of forms, but is most commonly characterized by a subject's obsessive (repetitive, distressing, intrusive) thoughts and related compulsions (tasks or rituals) which attempt to neutralize the obsessions.
i have them a lot and the only thing that has helped me is to tell myself,"This is my OCD, a simple misfiring of neurons."
It is often little comfort in the moment i know,but what has also helped me is to be in long term therapy with an OCD expert and to be taking medication for my OCD.
Are you seeing a therapist and are you on any meds?

One anti-psychotic drug seemed to be helpful but the psych took her off because it was not addressing other concerns.
