Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
I've been burned out from taking care of my Aunt so I haven't been visiting as much. Also, my life has been extra busy. Just everyday, there's something. Like today, I have to come straight home so my handyman can come to fix my siding that fell off. Therefore, I can't go to the gym (again). Yesterday, I was at my friend Lisa's house for a little get-together as she is having lung surgery this morning. While I was there, my Aunt's daughter called me to say that her Mom wasn't doing well and could I go for a visit? She was in Florida with her best friend and kids. We couldn't get in touch with her brother so I was it. I was a little mad. I had my day all planned out. I had a Walmart pick-up for 5 p.m. Then I was going to go to ShopRite for a great deal on pet stuff. So I'm on my way to see my Aunt and her son calls me. He just left there and had left his phone at home but he called from his wife's phone. He said that his Mom was doing terrible and that he prayed with her. He was heartbrokien. So I was a little scared to be going by myself. My brother was beat from his work week and didn't come with me. So anyway, my Aunt looked terrible and sounded terrible. She hadn't had much to eat or drink since Friday. She managed to give me hell about not visiting. She said that she needed companionship and milk and food. Honestly, I haven't even been able to do stuff for myself like keeping up with the gym and mowing my lawn. I've either been too tired, too busy or it's been raining. Anyway, Messenger has a video feature which I'm glad that I remembered as I don't have an iPhone to do FaceTime. So I did a video with my Aunt and her daughter. They said I love you to each other. So then my Aunt's granddaughter came and i left. Now I am feeling really bad about not having had the time or energy or actually, the desire to visit as I had been. i have been helping to take care of my Aunt for at least 22 years. I'm burnt out.

I'm finally home having been gone since 11 AM. I'm burning up with a fever. My older sister and her man let me drive home with them because so was over the day. So I let my dogs out and I fed them a VERY late dinner. I'm waiting on my parents t get home before I take my meds and go to bed. It was a pretty decent weekend all in all. Mom behaved herself which was my main worry. I'm ok...

Enough is Enough. A few years ago, I was on disability and spent a lot of time caring for my Aunt. One particular Tuesday, I remember standing at my kitchen sink and being excited because I had the day to myself. I was so happy, until my Aunt called, frantic that she dropped and broke her blood pressure monitor and needed a new one. I was so wigged out! I didn't leave my house and...

You do have to take care of yourself. Everyone dumps the aunt on you because you say yes. It is a hard spot you are in and I send you big hugs.
Caregiving is one of the most daunting and draining commitments.
