I am having a really hard time dieting and losing weight. I weigh 288 pounds. I am 5'4. Ive stopped getting on the scale because my weight fluctuates so much it makes me feel even worse. Anyway i feel like crap every single day i dont want to go anywhere because of the way I look. My cousin posted a picture on facebook that I was in and I was mortified with the way i looked. I cried for a second but quickly got myself together because I know that its my fault the reason I look this way. There is nothing health wise that is preventing me from losing! When I really diet and stick with it I always lose weight. Its just getting my mind set on doing it. I deal with depression and anxiety and its really bad right now. So all this is just too much for me. Does anybody have advice or some really good dieting tips? I need something that I can stick with this is a lifestyle change for me I have ALOT to lose. My goal is to be 160 pounds. Which is what I was before I had my son. I have been heavy like this for 4yrs and I cant take this anymore I am at my breaking point. I thought about eating 6 small meals every three hrs. I heard that really works.

I'm horrified! I knew my insurance would go up due to getting a new car but I didn't expect it to go up over $2,000. I did have an accident with the snow/ice in the winter. I was just telling my brother that I have had my car since March 2, 2026 and have only spent $75 on an oil change. Now this! I called another insurance company and their quote was over $4,000. I guess I have to pay...

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
Do some dancing, walking, any movements helps...Eat small meals helps to..am trying to eat 3 meals a day, fiberous foods that keeps hunger at bay.
I hope you feel better soon and start taking action..Don't let depression win you over...YOU can do this!!! Never give up HOPE..Good luck to you and stay positive and be determined!!!

omega- fatty acid. EPA & DHA 1000mg and 500mg of DHS each day.
Flax.
Although these are safer than drugs, getting carried away with them is unhealthy.
Cutting out sugar, breads rice and potatoes speeds up weight loss, but it's so hard to do that. Also, a 10 minute walk or housework, any constant movement, soon after a meal helps.
You can make soup if you have anything in your pantry, in just a few minutes - clear with micro waved vegetables and vegetable broth, or tomato/vegetable with tomato sauce, tomato paste and
vegetable broth. They done a lot of studies and a cup of soup before or with a meal cuts hunger and speeds up weightloss. Canned soups are full of salt, and honestly, I can make soup in 5 minutes, and save the money and it tastes better.
Eating more fiber helps you lose weight. Adding 1/2 cup of rinsed, canned beans to a meal or salad, pears and apples added to a salad. That, with drinking plenty of water speeds weighloss.
A: make mini goals, say losing 10-15 pounds by the end of the year.
B: Move more. I added an extra 15 minute music and movement dance portion to my classroom and I try to exercise everyday at 7pm to my favorite music.
C: Think about what you put in your mouth. I am not a person to write things down. This works for a lot of people, but not me.
D: Be kind to yourself and be realistic. You will slip. You will hit plateaus. You will want to give in to that giant twix bar or starbucks cookie cappachino. It's human nature and knowing it could happen (for me) actually makes it easier when it does to get back on track. Forgive Yourself and move forward.
E: Find things you love about yourself. (I bet you are an awesome and loving mom.) Write that down and put that in a prominent place to look at when you get down.
F: Go to the doctor for a physical and an evaluation for the anxiety and depression. This is perhaps the best advice I can give. And make a habit of going to see him about every 6 months. Advise him of your plan to lose weight and ask for tips if needed. He may suggest a nutritionist or other "helper" or a web site, etc.
And Finally...
G: STAY ON THIS SITE! The people here are going thru the same thing and we care. We really do! We want to help you and we understand exactly how you feel and what you are going thru.
And you can vent!
Good Luck! Let us know how things go...
