What if you don't eat enough food to go on a diet? I tried diets once and couldn't help but end up cheating all the time and eat what i wanted to eat. I try to exercise but I keep getting dissapointed and stop because I don't end up seeing results. I am sick and tired of being overweight sometimes I even get asked if I am expecting and that's really embarrasing. I am struggling to stay sane but I just keep slipping and loosing my grip and end up giving up on all hopes of ever being 136 pounds ever again. Before mood stabilizers and meds that's where I was.....I gained most of my weight on terrible weight gaining meds like Trileptal, Zyprexa, and Celexa. I am tired of being called fat all the time.
I already have a low self esteem as it is.....what would you do if you were me? Encouragement Please!

Hi I just wanted to add my two cents in the hope that it might help. For one, I've lost 135 lbs. Unfortunately I have more to lose, but by now I feel like I have a good sense of what I'm doing. What I suggest is this. Losing weight is about started new habits and changing old ways, but it's a gradual process. My sister and I joined a gym together a few years ago and she had all these ambitions of working out an hour a day and two hours on the weekend and eating perfet all the time. I knew I couldn't do all that. I had no desire to change how I ate on a drastic level nor exercise so much. I fully planned on getting gastric bypass surgery. But I joined and made my goal to be consistent with working out. My sister tried her ambitious plan for a few weeks and then gave up because even a marathon runner doesn't go from running one mile to running 28 overnight, it's a process that you build up to. I stuck with my plan of consistency just trying to go three times a week and trying to not workout any less then I did the last time. After a few weeks I started feeling better dropped a few lbs and started challenging myself to work out longer. After a few more lbs came off and working out started to become a habit I started making diet changes. At first it might be no regular sodas... just diet (a change I made years before I actually started loosing any weight), then it might be trying to eat a light breakfast every day, then you might watch your calories. It was a bit of a struggle at first, but I've learned some tricks... protein and fiber aka meat and vegetables are more filling than carbs and don't leave me feeling as hungry... healthy snacking keeps you from being starving and feeling starving leads to making bad choices, and lastly it's ok to not be perfect and eat a bad meal now and again. A diet only works if you'll stick to it and you won't stick to it if you can't eat the things you like sometimes. I'd usually plan a bad meal. A bad meal would occur on a day I knew I was going to work out. I might work out a little longer on that one day and eat light at my other meals. Dieting isn't about being perfect. You're only human, but you just have to do well more often then not and you'll see changes. The more you do it becomes a habit and the easier it is to do. When I started out too I was so big 375lbs that I cut my calories to 1800 and that was enough to see change, but these days I'm closer to 1000-1200. I could not have eaten this way to begin with, you have to give your body time to become accustomed to your new lifestyle. Lastly, the scale is important, but at the same time it's about the net loss. Over the past couple of years I've had weeks when I've lost half a pound, weeks when I've lost 5 lbs, weeks when I've gained 3 pounds and many weeks in a row when I've lost nothing. But to date all the losses, gains, and stalmates have lead to a total loss of 135lbs and I can say that even though I'd like to lose another 40-70 lbs. I'm still a million times better off all around where I am now, then where I was when I started. Good luck.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
