Myofascial Pain Syndrome Support Group
Myofascial Pain Syndrome (or MPS) is a term used to describe one of the conditions characterized by chronic pain. It is associated with and caused by "trigger points" (TrPs), sensitive and painful areas between the muscle and fascia. I also bought the 'save yoursel'f web book and found it illuminating, though I thought he was wrong in places. (He is very opinionated.)
When I first started down this path, I requested all the books I could get my hands on from the library. It guided my purchases.

thinking it through, my best books / websites have been:
"Fighting Fatigue" (I've realised my energy levels are key to my recovery; if my energy levels are running at 0.5 like last week I'm not able to do anything to help my condition)
www.painclinic.org (has the best, most logical information about pain management I've ever found, it's one failing is the section on muscle pain doesn't do it for me)
www. saveyourself.ca (has the best evidence based information on muscle knots / myofascial pain [including mps and a whole load of other conditions] written without medical jargon. And any questions you can email the author too and get a decent response. I think it's something like $80 for all 8 books (he calls them tutorials, but they're books) or $20 for just the myofascial pain book, which is the biggest and best of the lot anyway! Compared to what I've spent on other books this is the best 'return for investment' I've found.
I think our favourite books and sites change over time anyway, as our experience with the condition evolves.
