When I first came down with MG, I had inconsistent double vision. If I looked straight ahead, it was vertical distortion. My left eye muscles were weak. If I looked to the left, the left eye vision would become blurry. Even color input from the left eye was affected. Wishing you folks all the best going forward.

Thank you Tim 62. I just reread my note and should have said when looking toward left he sees double! I know when looking out one eye there is no double ! Lol I hope your eyes are stable now and we wish you well! I called this AM and he will see eye doctor next week so better than October! Barb

Hi Barb I am very much a newbie, just diagnosed about 6 weeks ago, my main symptom is ptsosis in my left eye, with double vision and I am on the same dosage of pyridostimine as your hubby..

My vision has stablised somewhat in the last couple of weeks but I did have both side by side and up and down double vision, incredibly variable second by second so the only way I could function is to patch one eye. It is now still variable when I am tiredbut I usually get about 3 hours in the morning when i don't have to patch. Is your hubby able to drive? I've been banned by my neuro and losing my independence is just the worst!

I am sero positive for the AChR antibody with a very high antibody count. It affects my voice, neck and upper body, but not that badly so far, thankfully.

I would be very interested in how your hubbby gets on. I am in the UK so my sight is monitored very carefully at my local area eye clinic, about every 6-8 weeks so they can track my double vision with a test they do with squares on a screen. Do you have that sort of monitoring as well?

Double vision only when looking left may be a nerve difficulty with a name. There is something called sixth nerve palsy. If the nerve that controls one of the muscles of your eye (the sixth cranial nerve) is not working then you cant move your left eye to the left, and that will cause double vision only when looking to the left.

Do a google search on sixth nerve palsy and you can find out the causes and symptoms to see if it matches.

Hi, I wanted to get back to the three people that replied to me now jerry knows a bit more about his weird to us double vision! Thank you Tim for your reply and Jerry's seems a bit different from you eye problem! Please keep me posted! Sue, you sound like your MG is very common with the droopy eye! With this MG I don't want to say too loud but Jerry has not had that! Lol. We found his with speech all of a sudden 3 years ago! With all test ruling out stroke his neurologist reach outside the box and within 2weeks she called to tell him it was MG! Never heard of it but put him on pyridostigmine and all improved! He has been mild case and no weakness of limps! Two times with double vision it took prednisone to clear it! Keep me posted on how you are doing and hope now you are much improved! RHanson, thank you for your post and I looked up 6 cranial nerve palsy and sounded just like it and confirmed the next day! I thought maybe there was a connection to MG but eye doctor said no! We are in process of getting a neurologist here in Rochester NY as ours is in Florida where we have a winter home! I am not convinced it is not connected to MG! Hi there..I to when first diagnosed with MG had the droopy eye, double vision and and when looking at writing one on top of other! Mine has continued that way..Do have the weakness especially in hot weather but mostly optical so far..Of course with immune sys compromised get alot of infections etc so its a roller coaster..But I am now just on prednisone and seems so far thank god to have kept eye problems under control but still have days double vision returns...So you never know what the next day will bring..Glad you are gonna see a neurologist who hopefully can definitively give him a diagnosis...Good luck going forward and keep us posted...jacki
