We are new on this group. My husband was diagnosed age 74 and is now 79.

We were wondering about the ages of others in this group, both currently and when you were diagnosed.

With healthcare, such as it is, some treatments will not be given to those over 70.

I am, I actually had to think for a second, I decided on 52. Haven't been diagnosed yet, don't know just what it is. I am praying for MG because I don't want it to be MS or ALS. I am sorry that you and your husband have been ill so much. His body, your spirit. It must be so hard, your hanging in there! Good for you both!! These people will be a wonderful support to you both. Such good kind people!

My daughter is 3 and was diagnosed at the age of 2... this is a awesome group full of wonderful wonderful ppl you will have no problem with getting support in here and lots of good info...

The first time I had the facial droop, I was 22 or 23. I came and went for years. Along with that prednisone makes me weak too. My Family P said I had prednisone induced myopathy. I went away after about two years. When ever I get sick with the flue, or a respitory infection, even without prednisone it weakens me quite a bit but then I would get better. I am now 35 and I can walk very far, I cant do repetive stuff with my arms. My right eye droops to the point that I cant open it, I am having trouble swallow, and my neck muscles are not holding up well. I am not yet diagnosed. But MG is the term the Nuero doc keeps using..

Babysnuggs, my husband asked me to write this to you. His Opthomologist spotted the MG immediately from his droopy eye & double vision. He sent him for a blood test. It wasn't one of the usuals, as he had to write it into the request sheet. His diagnosis was certain right away and he got referred to a Neuro. Ask you doc about this blood test. It could resolve your diagnosis quickly. Good luck.

Hi Jan,
I am 51, was diagnosed a month after I turned 35, but I think I had symptoms about 5 yrs prior to that just didnt know it was MG.

I'm 50, diagnosed, at 48 by 3 different neurologist's with just ocular. Re-diagnosed by MDA specialist with generalized 1 month ago.
