Becca (becwithkids) received a very sad call from Carla's family yesterday. In the words of her daughter, Chelsea:

Carla "passed away peacefully this morning. It was very unexpected. We are thinking her services will be on Thursday and we will be able to confirm that soon. She is so greatly missed but she is still with us all."

B will make sure that Carla's family receives all of our remembrances and her obituary will be posted on the Links Page, along with Curt's.

Our hearts break for Carla's husband and their blended family of "Thirteen Blessings."

I wanted everyone to know that I have sent a copy of b's remembrance and a link to this thread to five of Carla's children.

I also posted two photos of Carla with Becca and me which were taken by Becca's IVIG nurse on February 18, 2013. Becca was hooked up to her IVIG, I was struggling to breath... and NONE of us had any idea just how ill Carla was.

When I read her posts what came through was love, caring, humor,
Hope and never a poor me attitude. She was amazing and even tho she is in a better place, she will live in our hearts. Her courage and optimism will shine through us. We can think of her when we feel down and take from her courage. I wish I could have known her in person but she is leaving us all her legacy. My prayers go out for her family's healing.

Becca plans to attend Carla's funeral on Thursday. She is offering to take with her anything that you all would like to send to Carla's family, and would invite you to send her private messages with your sentiments. Becca's DS name is becwithkids.

Becca has an extremely full plate right now and needs our thoughts and prayers as she braves the next several days. It is very possible that she will be unable to reply to messages until the end of the week.

Holding you up, Becca, and hoping you will please take care of yourself.

O gosh I have just signed on to the site after a long absence and came upon this incredibly sad news. My sincerest thoughts and wishes to Carla's family over this time! She will certainly be remembered and sorely missed by us all here at DS.

I know that no one knows me on this site but I feel like I know all of you including Carla. I have been reading these discussions for a year now but I really haven't posted anything. I was very sad to read about Carla. I would like to pass along my sympathy to all of her friends here and also to her family.i just lost my mom in Oct. and I know hard it is.She will always be with you.

I haven't posted in forever but read DS when I can and keep up with you through others. Was so saddened to hear of Carla's passing. She was a warrior, fighting hard for her health. It sickens me she could not get a diagnosis for her many symptoms. Although her death was not most likely MG related, disease/illness can build one on top of the other. I can only hope that when her doctors hear of her death, they reflect on what might have been done and what can be done in the future to prevent this from happening.

Carla was a bright light on this site... So kind and compassionate with great insight and sense of humor. She will be dearly missed.

Thank you! Thanks to the above-and-beyond assistance from an amazing husband... I am doing well! (He even cleaned up the toy room!)
We have had an eventful week. I am still planning to attend Carla's funeral on Thursday.

Thank you Rosie for passing the message along! I do want to take any messages or thoughts to the family for any friends here. I will not be attending the viewing tomorrow night because my daughter is getting married at the same time.
However, I will be there on Thursday.
Please send any messages you would like me to take by tomorrow morning because that will be my last opportunity to get them copied.
I can send her the messages privately or publicly on facebook as well... if you would like.
I know that Rosie has given this link to the family as well... so they may be able to read it here.
