a form of stuttering

I have already come to feel very comfortable with you all in just a short time. You are a very welcoming group. So now I have a question. I have developed a form of stuttering in the last few months that I haven't seen addressed here. It, of course, happens when I am tired. I am not, however, stuttering the first part of the word but the entire weird. As in"Would you please go to the store, store, store, STORE for me? I feel this is an MG presentation, but could also be a side effect of the Keppra I take for migraine prevention. Does anyone else do this?

Meredith , stuttering was out of the blue 2 years ago when I thought hubby was having a stroke. They kept him overnight and no stroke. His neurologist did blood work and 10 days later found he has MG. She put him on pyridostigmine and has not stuttered again but has no other disease so just MG. This med has been his miracle drug and no other weakness. Hope this helps. Barb

I had word recall so bad for a period that my little son was finishing my sentences for me.....quite frightening actually. Oh and that was when I was completely medication free.

Valerie... welcome to our little MG family!!! And thank you for bumping this topic up (by responding to months after it was first posted)!!

In talking with my Neurologist after my recent Single Fiber EMG, I was stuttering and stammering like mad and wondering what in the world was going on. I think it was because I was completely exhausted by the test... not because my doc was telling me we had a confirmed diagnosis.

I also have terribly frustrating word finding/word recall issues and also end up (with my family) just resorting to whatever word comes out just to get ON with it. I really thought I had early Alzheimer's!!! 'Also, brain fog is bad for me. I am eager to find out if any of this is MG related. If it is, I wonder if Mestinon or any of the treatment options will make a difference.

I hope Russ will jump in on this dicussion. The other day, he posted an article about sense of smell and other central nervous system issues being linked with MG.
