Yesterday I went to the mall. For the first time I went to the concession/information stand and borrowed a scooter to do my shopping. I will never go to the mall again without borrowing a scooter, it was great. I could zip all over and go anywhere I wanted instead of picking exactly where I wanted to go because I had to converve my energy using my walker.
However, my reason for this post. I saw the sweetest thing while there. There was a woman in a wheel chair walking with a man, and they were holding hands! I almost cried when I saw that, and my husband was walking two paces behind me! hahaha.
What has been the sweetest thing you have seen?

Usually I get a daily influx of emails on health topics. An article from Dr. Mercola really stood out recently though because it mentioned that fat cells have their own mitochondria. Not only was this the first I'd heard of this, he also mentioned that fat serves a purpose in our metabolism. Another new factoid for me. The bottom line for me was to appreciate that even our fat cells play a...

I just do not feel well and I really think that it's because I cried yesterday on my way to work about my Aunt who is in the hospital. I don't think that we will have her much longer. She is very frail. Now she needs help eating. So, this is the third time in a year that I felt this way after crying. I think crying releases toxins into my body. I also worked up a sweat at the gym...

Seriously though it was at an accident where a motorcycle hit a car and they got tossed, this was in FL his wife landed on a pile of those red army ants and the fire dept. would'nt let us touch her liability, she was unconsious and he ,hubby, had a leg with a bone sticking out, He drug himself by the elbows to her and drug her away from the ant hill and just sat there holding her in his arms and yes he was peed at the bystanders but the fire dept interferred evrytime we tried to help. To me that was pure love
So far as witnessing "awe" momentsm, I can think of a few I've experienced. My boyfriend's daughter found me a wheelchair twice while we visited in June. It was just matter of course for her and I love her for it. She had a photography booth at an event and found where we could get a wheelchair so I could go. There was also a strawberry festival and she found a wheelchair for that too. She and her husband also gave up their bedroom while we were there so I could have the room closest the bathroom and with air conditioning.
My other "awe" moments are when my boyfriend offers to push me around wherever we go. He doesn't like for me to feel I just can't do something. He works around it and he focuses on what we can do - never likes to hear me be negative - he'd rather find a way to just do it.
He came into the house. His face was pale. He pulled a chair close to me. His eyes began to tear as he said, "It;s bad news, Honey." I looked to him and begged spit it out...just say it. I feared a cancer. He finally was able to tell me it was MS.
My reaction? I began to laugh....a deep belly laugh. He couldn't believe my reaction but here is why it was so. For the entire last year I had told him my fears. It was MS I told him or a brain tumor. Pray (He is Christian) for MS it doesn't kill ya.
During the past six or so years, he had helped me hide from our sons the extent of my illness. He cooked meals when they came to visit. He baked cakes so I wouldn't look lazy. He kept our home clean but mostly he kept our secret. I didn't want our sons to know until they were all out of college.
So night after night, this gentle man listened to my fears. He sat so often I know praying for me. But here, on this day, I find that he hadn't really listened. It just wasn't important. He knew I was sick and needed him. He just did and prayed. I knew then that I could have had a stubbed toe and this man of mine would have been right next to me...daring someone to say it wasn't enough to put me in a wheelchair.
Once I explained it to him, he too enjoyed a good laugh. He is the only man I ever loved. There will never be another.
