Shot Schedule

Ok I am 3 hours late taking my rebif shot so technically I took it Saturday morning @ 1 A.M. My question is can I return to normal schedule on Monday? I do on Mon/Wed/Fri. Help Please.

They like 24 hours between shots so if you shoot about 10 PM that should be fine, a little earlier and you might get some of the repercussions but then try to get back on your regular schedule and you should be fine. Believe me I am on Copaxone and NOTHING is written in stone. I called and talked with one of the pharmacists (the nurses are useless) and he told me as long as it was in the same time realm (3 to 4 hours) go do it. I even changed my timing from AM to PM after 3 years and nothing happened. You'll be fine.

I would think that would be totally fine since you're talking about the next week's schedule.

You're supposed to have 48 hours between Rebif shots. So as long as you don't take the Monday shot before 1 am, you'll be fine.

One time, I asked a Rebif nurse about taking a shot two or three hours before the 48 hour period was up, and she seemed very concerned about me doing this. She advised me that, if I did decide to take the next shot early (which I decided not to do), I should drink a lot of water during the day to reduce any side effects.

I have given myself my Rebif shot a few hours less than 48 hours and have been fine. Call a M.D. If you are not sure.

Since it was your Friday shot and you're going until Monday I would just go back to your normal schedule on Monday, because the weekend is longer than the normal 48 hours anyway. But as others have said just call your nurse if you're concerned. I was on Rebif and did not have a problem with slight variations in the schedule. I never missed an injection though although sometimes I did need to take my shot a few hours earlier or later. My nurse told me that I had a four hour window. Two hours earlier or later. But with the long weekend break that would be different. Friday night to Monday night is a 72 hour break.

Thanks to all who replied. @ Neener I didn't even think about it being more than 48 hours. Regarding the nurses doctors nurse or MS Lifelines to be honest, I really felt they were not much help when I called about some other issues. I asked a question and each would ask if I called the other.
