I 'm 64, have had MS for 21 years, and progressed so now have PPMS. I've had 3 mini strokes 3 years ago so my left leg and arm are paralized. I cannot walk so been sitting /getting around in a power wheelchair for about 6 years. It's almost 7 pm so will call my doctor tomorrow but in the meantime any thoughts on why my swollen let ankle - told from not moving- now burns and feels like my toes will blow off! `WTF!!!

Usually I get a daily influx of emails on health topics. An article from Dr. Mercola really stood out recently though because it mentioned that fat cells have their own mitochondria. Not only was this the first I'd heard of this, he also mentioned that fat serves a purpose in our metabolism. Another new factoid for me. The bottom line for me was to appreciate that even our fat cells play a...

I just do not feel well and I really think that it's because I cried yesterday on my way to work about my Aunt who is in the hospital. I don't think that we will have her much longer. She is very frail. Now she needs help eating. So, this is the third time in a year that I felt this way after crying. I think crying releases toxins into my body. Seems they've been helping. There are a number of things the doctor can help with like sending a physical therapist out to help you, and see what's going on. Did you end up calling your doctor?
Are you elevating your legs? I thought putting my more affected leg up on the arm of the couch might help. When I showed the PT nurse, she said, that's good, but if you can get a pillow under your leg too, that would be better. There are some exercises I found on youtube. I don't have a free wall behind my headboard though. (Window wouldn't help hold my feet/legs in a vertical position). I'll attach the video so you can see what is recommended. You may need your aide to help you get in the position but If you have the room, it sounds like it would be helpful.

I came across an MS documentary on Amazon, LIVING PROOF. I've now changed my diet back to gluten free and more veggies and fruit, with lean meats, no sweets, etc. I also have PPMS. (following Mathew Embry has been inspiring.)
I hope you've called the doctor....
Hugs, my friend. <3
I think it's good to follow up with your doctor, especially if it's localized to one leg, and hurts so much.
Best wishes for a speedy and accurate diagnosis to help you!
