Every time I go to the Dr. or Er. it seems like they just ignore me and what I am trying to tell them. I have been in so much pain for a while now. it is weird because it seems like it is everywhere but worse in different places. I can't seem to describe the pain accurately. My arms feel heavy and so do my legs. I am constantly tired. I have been online constantly trying to find out what is wrong with me. I came across ms symptoms and it seemed to explain all of my pain and weakness how can I get my Dr to believe me. I don't want to seem like a complainer but I just know there has to be something wrong with me.

Usually I get a daily influx of emails on health topics. An article from Dr. Mercola really stood out recently though because it mentioned that fat cells have their own mitochondria. Not only was this the first I'd heard of this, he also mentioned that fat serves a purpose in our metabolism. Another new factoid for me. The bottom line for me was to appreciate that even our fat cells play a...

I just do not feel well and I really think that it's because I cried yesterday on my way to work about my Aunt who is in the hospital. I don't think that we will have her much longer. She is very frail. Now she needs help eating. So, this is the third time in a year that I felt this way after crying. I think crying releases toxins into my body. I also worked up a sweat at the gym...

I have had MS for 7 years. It can be very hard to describe your symptoms. However, symptoms of MS can be misleading! To know for sure, like I said, I would go to a neurologist. It can often mimic other diseases and vice versa! Hope that helps! Just remember, you have to be your own advocate! Don't let them boss you around!
If you can't get your doctor to listen to you, you could start by just speaking your mind. Something is going on and it's not your imagination. You need to have some answers, to know that someone is trying to help you figure this out. If your doctor doesn't see you as a person, a whole person, and really listen to you, I agree with hollawebb, get another.
It helps to keep track of symptoms in a notepad and take that with you to the doctor too. I get out my pen and paper whenever I go to one. I like to take notes. I've also taken a friend with me as an extra set of ears in case I miss anything. I think my voice recorder might come in handy at some point too.
I hope you get some answers. Getting a diagnosis, as anyone on here will tell you, usually takes a while. And even then, they have so many, probable, possible and definite MS. lol. Not to mention the types of it.
Let me know if I can answer any questions. But yeah, make that doctor listen to you or get another. :)
