Idk if this works for everybody but I'm desperate here.. 5 main triggers so the book says are dairy, legumes, wheat, eggs and suttin else I forget...I walked 3 long blocks to get chinese food tonie round 830pm and brought my dog a pitbull mix with me cuz I don't live in a great neighborhood and if any1 has lived in an urban area women get hit on all the time and man was it difficult.the dull achy muscle twitchy legs were acting up the walk I looked drunk cuz my balance issues..anyway I made it there, got my chinese food n started back.
BY this time it was dark n I walk looking down so I can see the pavement n I couldn't..shit how am I going to walk 3 damn blocks back home..I can't see the sidewalk which I have to cuz newark's sidewalks are horribly cracked and severly uneven.. I wound up walkin my dog in the street home cuz I knew the street pavement was even..if I didn't I woulda tripped an fallen.. point is I'm a "u look fine" ms'r and that was the longest 3 blocks of my life...I know to the world I'm just a regular person walking around..but ima freakin soldier who gets up everyday to fight n kick ms in the f*ckin ass but walking everyday pain or no pain..cane or no cane pain killers or not..this will not beat us..and one thing ima try is this damn diet..just one more weapon in my arsenal..geez if I could have spoken this post in a speech it would be emotionally moving..aahhhh I need a cigg I got all emo...

Usually I get a daily influx of emails on health topics. An article from Dr. Mercola really stood out recently though because it mentioned that fat cells have their own mitochondria. Not only was this the first I'd heard of this, he also mentioned that fat serves a purpose in our metabolism. Another new factoid for me. The bottom line for me was to appreciate that even our fat cells play a...

I just do not feel well and I really think that it's because I cried yesterday on my way to work about my Aunt who is in the hospital. I don't think that we will have her much longer. She is very frail. Now she needs help eating. So, this is the third time in a year that I felt this way after crying. I think crying releases toxins into my body. I also worked up a sweat at the gym...

Here's a link to a write up on that Ann Sawyer - I just went looking to see what it's all about: http://www.direct-ms.org/recommendations.html
When I began following a better diet, I started feeling tons better, more energetic, clearer minded, etc. I don't eat any sugar except what is in fruits and even then I try to keep it at or below 15 grams a day for the most part.
I believe an anti-inflammatory diet is best for all of us but it can cost money and of course you have to be able to prepare food and be motivated to stay on course..
The book is worth reading, has some exercise info in there too. But I found their recovery to be a little hard to believe. But hey...who am I?
I followed a diet with as little refined sugar as possible, no wheat, no corn, no dairy and absolutely no processed foods. No fried foods also. I defiinately felt better.
Look up anti-inflammatory diet. Dr. OZ has lots of info. I juice a lot and eat as much veggies as possible. I wash all fruit in 1 tbsp white vinegar to 1/2 gal water to get pesticides off. No antibiotic/hormone meat or chicken. Buy it as pure as possible.
Food is medicine and being careful what you put in your body is best way to keep it as healthy as you can.
Our bread has no nutriional value, our vegetables are hybrids...really don't get me started on American food supply.
If you give it a serious try for 6 months see how you feel.
Nutritious bread called spelt is an ancient grain and a good substitute for other breads. Have you heard of the Swank diet?
Maybe I'm giving you too much info but I really believe in this. Shop trader Joes and whole foods and your local farmers markets.
BTW a simple blood test can be done to see if you cannot tolerate gluten. If you are ok you don't need to worry about that so much. 1 thing at a time!
Good Luck. If you want more info let me know
All the best

I think that food matters. I think that food is EXTREMELY important. I think that it is important to find food that is as organic as possible. Try not to eat junk food, processed food and the least amount of sugar and meat that you can eat. I eat locally produced veggies and organic as much as possible and I think that is the reason why I am doing relatively good. I live in the country and have fresh air and stay as active as possible.
But please stay away from processed food. I am not on the gluten free diet because I am not discipline enough. I just stay on a very nutricious diet and organic. I cook everything from scratch and eat as healthy as possible.
I take a lot of vitamins and take the Vitamin D (the most important one) along with Evening Primrose Oil. Hope this advice helps.
But food MATTERS!! But I do cheat and eat some sweets but I feel bad when I overdo it with sweets.
And I love oatmeal and don't think that it is hurting me at all. I eat oatmeal every morning and I am doing great. I don't like corn because of all the corn sugar in everything. Don't drink sodas!!
