I went to my Neuro today, he made a statement regarding studies showing that people with MS have slower progression if they give up meat. Has anyone heard of this and is anyone on a VEG regiment?

I just do not feel well and I really think that it's because I cried yesterday on my way to work about my Aunt who is in the hospital. I don't think that we will have her much longer. She is very frail. Now she needs help eating. So, this is the third time in a year that I felt this way after crying. I think crying releases toxins into my body. I also worked up a sweat at the gym...

I say everything in moderation. I try to eat super healthy, I still eat meat and will have a steak every now and then. Load up on veggies, but you still need protein. I go with lean protein, lots of veggies and fruit. Lots of seafood. I do avoid dairy, preservatives/processed foods when possible, or anything fried, but that's just my preference.
Just be the healthiest you can be, eat healthy, exercise your body and your mind.. I always say that besides my MS, I'm healthier than most people I know. And that's my goal, so I can be strong for times when MS does hit me.
On diet, Dr. Oz has had some diabetic folks on his show who have come off their meds .... you could google his show and do a search for diabetes.
I know this is frustrating but if you start feeling better you might want to make more changes.
