Took my family on a cruise July 4th week for my oldest son graduation gift. Lots of sun and heat. Figured I'd make it 3 years being hit by heat and then go for the annual MRI's. Had them July 16th. Going the 28 to see if there's anything new. Hope there's not, but I think there is.
The heat exposere usually causes a new leison for me. Yesterday was 94, weather report said it would feel like 104. Numbness in the left side of me stomach and left thigh. Seems to be something every summer.
Other than the fatigue from heat, has anyone had physical changes from the heat. Working now, should have stayed home tonight. It about 91 and humid. Thought I was going to drop earlier. My lips started to feel numb, that was weird.
Well, I hope it is cooler out today. I get off at 8, get to sleep for 4 hr and then we have a picnic to go to. How did life get so busy. Then again, I find when I stay busy I don't think about the MS so much.
Hope all is well everyone out there.

Usually I get a daily influx of emails on health topics. An article from Dr. Mercola really stood out recently though because it mentioned that fat cells have their own mitochondria. Not only was this the first I'd heard of this, he also mentioned that fat serves a purpose in our metabolism. Another new factoid for me. The bottom line for me was to appreciate that even our fat cells play a...

I just do not feel well and I really think that it's because I cried yesterday on my way to work about my Aunt who is in the hospital. I don't think that we will have her much longer. She is very frail. Now she needs help eating. So, this is the third time in a year that I felt this way after crying. I think crying releases toxins into my body. I also worked up a sweat at the gym...

i hope things will go good for you and i hope you have no new lesions.
Take it easy try to stay cool, it has been extremely hot here too, with heat index friday it was 105, today suppose to be cooler,, yea!!
good luck with your mri.. take care
June hit. I "hurt" my knee - thought it was the exercise. duh. July 1st, my back of thigh muscle hurt like a streak of voltage was hitting it. Then July 13th my leg collapsed for the first time (sure I have tripped over drop foot toes a lot but this was the first time It collapsed.) Now I've done my IVIG infusions and am still waiting for some relief.
I'd definitely say the heat is a major problem. After I mentioned that to my nurse, she said that as a matter of fact, she's had a lot of calls this summer for ms patient solumedrol infusions.
So, the a/c is on and I am mostly inside. Don't go out unless I have to. The only reason I don't move "back home" is that Florida is my son's home and my folks live here too. Oh, and those nasty state taxes. I can't imagine having to live on what I get and having to pay those too.
It was hot here yesterday with 91% humidity - after I watered the vegetables, I didn't go out again. I have to "wall walk" with everything I can get hold of - not a pretty site.
I hope your MRI shows you have no new lesions this time. It's good you stay so busy! So long as you have a chance to cool off here and there - it will keep you able.
I try to think more about the lives around mine. I remember when I thought a new car was an important thing in life. Boy was I stupid. Stay cool and healthy.
