As for chocolate, I have not found that it affects my ms one way or the other symptm wise but it boosts my sugar level so makes me feel better. When I am in pain my sugar level van go down & i get the shakes (have previously been told my hypoglycemic I think - sugar level goes too low) so I usually have some chocolate or lollies with me incase.
Have had to change the bandage again today as it was getting dirty & when I tried to take the gauze off it was stuck again. I got it off & it is still bleeding, red all around it & doesnt look like its healing at all. I am a bit worried about it as I did it on Wednesday moning & it is now Sunday afternoon & I thought it would have dried up by now.
I know my hand isnt ms related but it is making left hand cramp more & just general pain level worse.
I feel like I am a truck waiting for the next accident to happen if that makes sense.
Back to work tomorrow which is fun to try to use right hand constantly so expect will be on strong pain killers to get through & either to Dr tomorrow or Tuesday.
Just venting again.
Take care of yourselves,
AusSue

Take care, please!
My heart goes out to you. Take care and be hopeful. weeks like this just plain suck and that is why we're here so you can vent. I sympathize and know we just have to move forward how ever slow it may be. Love this site and everyone on it.
As for the Chocolate, maybe that is why I have MS because I am a chocolate-oholic, no wait I heard that it was the caffeine, oh ya- it was because I didn't eat healthy---um wait, I don't eat much chocolate or drink caffeine and have been pretty good at eating healthy---so explain that!!! I think it was the Jet air fuel release as they flew over head when I was a kid. ah, who knows, who cares, I have it and have to deal with it, but I do agree with moderation in everything is a good thing, and a healthy body helps the meds work better -- Dig in and enjoy!!
but my history is clear, chocolate nearly killed me a few times when I thought there was 'no connection'. man, 1978, 18 yr old punk, and I was loving those hersheys and nestles.
in our ignorance we thought it was just a bizarre allergic reaction and I thought it was real worth it to have my myelin eaten up, I was undefeatable.
Scared me though, who knew it was scaring me too, multiple-y.
So I see it's starting again, so I'm going to go away for a while. YMMV.
If you know someone who knows how to do A-K (applied kinesiology) you can pretty much Test everything you eat a lot of, or think may weaken you.
My chiro even proved LDN to work after she understood the mechanism. Has to be tested in the opposite way, and boy was she SHOCKED.
Good luck to all. I don't like this topic because people seem to defend it by ad hom attacks on the messenger.
My other sister also with cancer goes to a Holistic Chiropractor who does specialize in MS and when this snows goes away I will go see him. Thanks for you encourament because I have always been a little leery.
It is weird that you had such a reaction to Chocolate---sorry about the sarcasm, I guess I was being a little temperamental--I do believe that everyone react to different things but next time I eat Chocolate I'll see if I react too even if it is a little in comparison to you.
Anywho, I was told that LDN was not an option for me but you sound like it is a preventive possibility. Isn't this a Chemo-type therapy with a lot of baggage attached? You have sparked my curiosity do you have good web site on info relating to this?
Thanks for your info, I like people who are up front so I can make a honest judgment for myself.

My chiro who does it well doesn't charge me anything extra, I Just bring in little bits of what we want to test.
Wayne Dyer even gave a demo of A-K on stage during his 2004 seminar I think.
I doubted it back in 1991 but my chiro said she had a good track record, so WE tested HER. I already knew my likelyhood list of allergies and she was 100% accurate.
She's a holistic chiro. I also have another team, father and son. The father has been my chiro since 1989, and in 2002 at the height of that killer exacerbation, his son graduated and joined his practice.
He joined in April and a month later I let him adjust me the first time, 3 days later I was 'fixed'. I pretty much see him exclusively now. We learned a lot together in the last 5 years.
Due to the time in and time out we never really put it all together. I knew I was 'allergic' to chocolate but it wasn't until 1998 and 2002 that we solidified the pattern.
As for LDN, that's Low Dose Naltrexone, NOT Novantrone. Novantrone is the killer chemo
LDN is like homeopathic remedies.. it's grains. 3.0 MG or 4.5 MG; the original use for Naltrexone 50 MG 3 or 6 times a day was used in the 1980s and like most off-label usages, worked totally different in high high doses.
http://www.larrygc.com/mystory is my story, and I also have my dad's story in that thread. Saved his life from stomach cancer last year. They gave him SIX months to live, 11 months ago now. We got him on LDN 4.5 3/28 last year. SIX months later CT scan showed his tumors shrunk in half! they never saw that happen before with their chemo practice.
LDN 3.0 costs me $18.62 a month without any insurance involvement, I think it's like around $22-24 for 4.5's
also this sounds a little like low Platelets. I don't know, you are probably on top of it already, I just know from experience that is what happens, you keep bleeding and risk of infections with low Platelets.
just an Idea.
