Falling

Well, I fell again, but this time it was in a public bathroom. My daughter pushed my traveling wheelchair ( it folds up and has no large wheels so that one can push one's self ) to the bathroom.

I was having trouble standing and then I went to sit down on the toilet and the outer rim ( lid ) broke away and as I was sitting down in my wheelchair the wheelchair went over . I told my daughter to go get my husband, not caring that it was a Women's restroom in a restaurant.

He was able to squeeze in, move the wheelchair aside and pick me up from behind and help me up.

Daughter, who has a medical background is angry at me for yelling at her! Do people not know, when some people are angry, scared or hurt they raise their voice?

I apologized for yelling at her, but she is still miffed! Sorry, needed to RANT!!

Rant! It is frustrating that people often don't realise that yelling is often out of frustration, fear etc. . .

Aww, I sure understand what it's like to raise a voice when you're so traumatized like that! I've hit the floor and yelled "don't touch me" before. I can't stand the thought of being yanked up and possibly hurt when there is something to grab onto and pull myself.

Your daughter will get over it. She's probably never fallen in a public place, let alone a compromising one like a restroom.

Sorry you went through that.

I understand! I was not only angry for falling, but once again, it's a reminder of this stupid disease! I pushed away help, and then complained later that I didn't get the help I needed. I for one, send confusing signals to my family and friends, way too often. :(

so sorry for your fall ... I starting falling this past Oct. & November that I just started getting angry at the disease. I didn't always say nice things to my husband when he would try to help me but he understood that it wasn't him I was angry with it was the illness

Thank you to all who read my post and to those that even answered it! DS is like a dog who love you unconditionally, listens to you with out judgement and is always glad to see you!

Yes-- my youngest, is a ambulance driver, she gets upset with me more than I can remember!! wow we have something else in common!! something good, for a change, but we have to vent, hee hee or we blow our stack!!
so sorry though im sure it was a bad experience for you, hugs!! tickey

Thanks Tickey, yep, we have have daughters in the medical field, wonderful Yorkies, mine gone now, MS and we fall over and go boom!

I try to keep it light but sometimes, this MSonster just kicks you in the but! Sneaky B--tard!

I wonder if the reason she got so upset was her fear at seeing this happen and the frustration of not being able to do anything?

    I just do not feel well and I really think that it's because I cried yesterday on my way to work about my Aunt who is in the hospital.  I don't think that we will have her much longer.  She is very frail.  Now she needs help eating.  So, this is the third time in a year that I felt this way after crying.  I think crying releases toxins into my body.  I also worked up a sweat at the gym...
