We all know we can have good days and then bad ones. The problem is if you work 4 hrs a day, they decide you can work part time and you can lose disability. I too want to help pull my own weight by working as much as possible. But if I work fairly steady for a while I will lose some benefit , then when I CANT I won't just get the benifit back. If I miss a lot of work the employer won't want me. I researched it and the system doesn't work for us.

I tried 3hrs a day but it was exhausting. I am going to try 2hrs and see how I do. If I can't do it I will have quit. My employer is aware of my MS & will work around me, very lucky. Thank you for your input, hope tomorrow is a good day for you.

Yeah, I am scared of trying to work at all. Our days are so unpredictable. I read what HCARD read. If you work a certain number of hours, and they are cumulative, you can be deemed suitable for working and then that disability that was a dire necessity, can go right out the window.

I applaud you for trying to work. Perhaps it's best to just go for it and then have the opportunity to make some actual money again. It's such a conundrum though.

I follow Dr. Wahls and and am quite hopeful that we can achieve amazing results as well. At least that's what I have In mind.

Go with what working requirements Disability has. Don't risk it by messing with the benefit. We MSer's have to take advantage of any resources.
Do you need the employment money?
If not can you volunteer instead?

We could can really use the extra money but we can scrape by on my husbands pay & my disability. Today was my fourth day & I had to leave early. It's not worth it, I feel like crap. I will give it another week or two but I know I just can't do it anymore, at least I tried:)

Since being retired I occasionally sell TASTEFULY SIMPLE through home parties. Because various amounts of $ can be made I signed up with my husband's name. I also volunteer at an animal rescue center. I find that very rewarding for both the animals & myself.

I have always worked full-time, but I was recently laid off from my job and am currently seeking a new one. I was lucky in that my job allowed me to work from home, but I know that the next job I find will most likely not be that way. I definitely have the good days and bad days, so I am concerned about a new employer being understanding. I have to work for the money and for insurance. Remaining hopeful.
