Lately, this site hasn't been great for speedy responses, but I thought I'd try. . .(I REALLY NEED some advice quickly!!)
It is Sunday afternoon (here) and I just found out there is a job available for my area of expertise. I KNOW she'd most likely hire me on the spot (I've already interviewed with her, and she all-but hired me but a week too late--after I'd accepted a job elsewhere). She wants someone ASAP. . .
I am waiting to hear back from the university for a substitution. A woman around my age had a bad fall around Christmas, leaving her with a concussion, a bashed in nose, back & walking problems. I was told they WILL hire a sub from Feb 8 (another week) if she's still not recovered. The uni job pays double for half the teaching hours (really good for my fatigue).
Should I take the gamble, waiting another week for the nicer, less guaranteed or stable gig, or take the significantly worse-paid, possibly more strenuous one I am probably guaranteed to get?

Usually I get a daily influx of emails on health topics. An article from Dr. Mercola really stood out recently though because it mentioned that fat cells have their own mitochondria. Not only was this the first I'd heard of this, he also mentioned that fat serves a purpose in our metabolism. Another new factoid for me. The bottom line for me was to appreciate that even our fat cells play a...

I just do not feel well and I really think that it's because I cried yesterday on my way to work about my Aunt who is in the hospital. I don't think that we will have her much longer. She is very frail. Now she needs help eating. So, this is the third time in a year that I felt this way after crying. I think crying releases toxins into my body. I also worked up a sweat at the gym...

Put the pros and cons on each side then go with whatever your gut tells you.
My mother had a great saying ' when in doubt , don't'
I think that money isn't always the answer especially when our health is concerned. I left a job I loved because the physical demands were too much. I now live happily on much less.
However, the economic climate where you are is probably far more uncertain than here, so do what will be best for you....or do what you'd prefer and deal with the consequences when they happen.
This is probably no help, but whatever you decide just don't have any regrets. It's no use regretting something you didn't do.
All the best.
