I had blood work done the other day and my results came back with a HUGE deficiency of Vitamin D. Is there a connection at all with lacking Vitamins and MS? My Dr hasn't contacted me yet and I thnk this could be playing a big part of why I don't feel good. Any input would be helpful! I am new to this site and to MS so forgive me if I may ramble a bit or ask a silly question.

Usually I get a daily influx of emails on health topics. An article from Dr. Mercola really stood out recently though because it mentioned that fat cells have their own mitochondria. Not only was this the first I'd heard of this, he also mentioned that fat serves a purpose in our metabolism. Another new factoid for me. The bottom line for me was to appreciate that even our fat cells play a...

I just do not feel well and I really think that it's because I cried yesterday on my way to work about my Aunt who is in the hospital. I don't think that we will have her much longer. She is very frail. Now she needs help eating. So, this is the third time in a year that I felt this way after crying. I think crying releases toxins into my body. I also worked up a sweat at the gym...

My mother has rickets as a child (she grew up in not so sunny England) and I have read that first born children to mothers who have had rickets (caused by Vit D deficiency ) are more likely to develop Ms.
I am so convinced that a D3 deficiency is an invitation for trouble that all four of my adult kids take 2,000 IU each day. Personally, I take 4,000 IU each day.
So do whatever you doctor recommends to get it up (ha ha). Vitamin D level really works. Take it as long as you have MS (which unless they come up with a cure will be forever.)
I brought this up to the last neuro I saw! That I have all the symptoms of MS, that several doctors are thinking that & leaning in that direction, & that I had recently also found out that I had a Vit... D def..... And, that I know that there is a connection between the two!
To me!? That is just another indication that the other docs & my best friend who works in & teaches PT is right & I feel it is right on myself! Just judging from my own symptoms, how they present & my gut intuition!? Which is usually dead on! But I haven't found a neuro worth wasting time on! They've all been dickheads & a total waste of my time!!! I couldn't be more sorry that i got my hopes up or wasted time on the idiots that I've seen so far!?
What are th othr D vitamins good for?
