I have started feeling some pain deep in my bones when I am out in the heat. Is it normal for the heat to cause pain? I have never experienced any issues due to the heat.
My mom is going to help me buy an air conditioner, but I don't know if that will help me any. Has anyone found an OTC medication that helps with this kind of pain? Tylenol doesn't seem to help much.
Any advice would be great

Usually I get a daily influx of emails on health topics. An article from Dr. Mercola really stood out recently though because it mentioned that fat cells have their own mitochondria. Not only was this the first I'd heard of this, he also mentioned that fat serves a purpose in our metabolism. Another new factoid for me. The bottom line for me was to appreciate that even our fat cells play a...

I just do not feel well and I really think that it's because I cried yesterday on my way to work about my Aunt who is in the hospital. I don't think that we will have her much longer. She is very frail. Now she needs help eating. So, this is the third time in a year that I felt this way after crying. I think crying releases toxins into my body. I also worked up a sweat at the gym...

But I would suggest somethings first before thinking drugs, that is just me. A/C is the first. I did not have it for years and suffered so much. I had a million fans, the last were the osillating (I knwo that is spelled wrong, but I can't think it out right now) towers, and they were/are the best I found, still use them on not really killer hot days. Also get the cooling equipment. It makes a world of difference. It was 90 at 10:00Am here in Chicago this morning, and really humid, which is the worst part sometimes, but with the vest and hat I was able to get to the store and back without really getting hot. So I would really recommend that equipment.
Stay hydrated. I can't stress this enough. It is important for everyone of course, but I have found that if I get hte least bit dehydrated, I am in serious trouble. My MS seems to get the signal that i am weak, and it just kicks in big time. Tremors, wobbly legs, double vision, the whole deal, and that is like really one glass of water makes that big a difference. The thing is that once it starts, it can't be stopped, at least with me. If I go into a bad MS situation form the heat, it doesn't just stop when i get cool, whereas if i just overheat and am hydrated and not over tired, once I cool off, I am fine. So water, water, water.
Try all of this first. And sunglasses. The sun does odd things to my eyes which seems to make my body hurt. I know, sounds odd, but there it is. Too much hunidity and my already sort of hazy vision gets much worse.
Good Luck, I know it is really uncomfortable. But try al lthis before you go to meds...at least you may need less if nothing else.
I'm mostly wondering if bone pain can be a MS related issue that is caused by overheating or if it just gets better when I cool down because I'm freaking hot.
I'm also getting an air conditioner on the weekend! YAY!
Hope you feel better
Heat though. Holy smokes. I'm with Nikki only I send my son out, I don't go out in the heat unless I really have something that needs done.
I agree with the dehydration causing effects. Stay hydrated - it's so good for the body altogether.
