Anyone had radical improvement from diet change?
brianap
I was looking a Ann Boroch's blog and book where she goes from mostly dead to 12 yrs symptom free. Also George Jelenik (sp?) who follows a strict diet and has been relapse for free for 10+ years or something like that. I know there are no studies/trials using any of their methods but wondered if there were any similar experiences. I guess I'm a little sceptical- did they really have MS? are they just trying to sell their books?I also don't trust all the drugs out there. Looking for someone/something to convince me one way or another. Ashton Embry is another diet proponent. ANyone follow his recommendations? Thanks

Usually I get a daily influx of emails on health topics. An article from Dr. Mercola really stood out recently though because it mentioned that fat cells have their own mitochondria. Not only was this the first I'd heard of this, he also mentioned that fat serves a purpose in our metabolism. Another new factoid for me. The bottom line for me was to appreciate that even our fat cells play a...

I just do not feel well and I really think that it's because I cried yesterday on my way to work about my Aunt who is in the hospital. I don't think that we will have her much longer. She is very frail. Now she needs help eating. So, this is the third time in a year that I felt this way after crying. I think crying releases toxins into my body. I also worked up a sweat at the gym...

But even though I have no radical results to share, I am still working on making the diet as strict as its supposed to be--so that is probably error on my part.
In general fatigue, headaches are down. I haven't had a significant relapse since I started the diet. I don't feel awesome or anything but I definitely feel better than when I was on avonex--and trust me eating a certain way is annoying but much better than sticking yourself in the leg with a GIANT needle.
Also, heavy supplement regimen is important in conjunction with diet. I take over 25 pills a day.
If I were you I would look into Swank or MS diet--also anti-inflammatory diet is grreat. Want to know more? As Epagain on here--she is a goldmine of info
Also nnyl I think is her name and she is also super informed.
I get my year MRI in the next couple of weeks--so we will know if the diet this whole year has done anything.
It was a risk, but I don't believe in the shots and other synthetics.

BUT...I must say that eating a healthy diet for me is extremely important and the reason why my MS friends that I have had for over 12 years are not doing as well as I am, may be because of my diet.
Organic food, no high fat, no red meat or pork, eliminate as much junk food as you can. And exercise or force yourself to get out as much as possible. I have a lot of fatigue but I still force myself to get out. But I have to eat well or I just plain feel lousy. Do not know about the diets other than the Swank diet, but I will look into them now.
Thanks for the info.
