The last few months I've been getting into more and more of a funk. Since February I've been unemployed or underemployed (since last month), and I am being pressured to, in my mind, give in to the MS. Since Feb, a company has been sending someone to my house to help out. In order to get the govt to send s.o. I was encouraged to exaggerate my need. The latest person prefers to ignore most of the cleaning, and focus on sort of waiting on me, hand and foot. I'm fiercely independent and don't want to lose any more of my independence. No, I don't want her to dress me or bathe or feed me, resent the hell out of the fact that I've felt forced to wear diapers at night to minimise the help I ask from my kids.
The latest is, I'm being pressured to go to a shrink. I don't even have time to go to the gym because of the work hours I've picked up, let alone find time for that endeavor. Oh, and they are also trying to force me to try to get on disability (which I sincerely don't feel as necessary yet).

Usually I get a daily influx of emails on health topics. An article from Dr. Mercola really stood out recently though because it mentioned that fat cells have their own mitochondria. Not only was this the first I'd heard of this, he also mentioned that fat serves a purpose in our metabolism. Another new factoid for me. I just do not feel well and I really think that it's because I cried yesterday on my way to work about my Aunt who is in the hospital. I don't think that we will have her much longer. She is very frail. Now she needs help eating. So, this is the third time in a year that I felt this way after crying. I think crying releases toxins into my body. I also worked up a sweat at the gym...

Ever since I was diagnosed, I had doctors (at the time) keep offering antidepressants, asking me every single time I went in, if I was feeling depressed. There are many things to do to keep out of a funk. Journaling, exercising, all sorts of things. A good cry is sometimes in order! Don't let anyone force you into more of a disability. I so hate when people do that sort of thing. It's not helpful. You are strong and very intelligent. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.☺♥
The latest is, I caved in & gave her the chance to help me up from napping (it has to be quickly or my bladder lets loose), but she didn't. I got filled with piss & was so over-tired & stressed about it I got totally rigid. She (seemingly smugly) proceeded to treat me like I was just your standard, bed-ridden patient, rolling me from side to side, essentially giving me a sponge bath. I was so angry & humiliated!
