So I go in for my nerve function test today. After I go into the neuro. She goes well you have neurophay in the feet. Then she goes I think we found the source of all your problems. I asked her well what about ms, she just laughs and goes oh know ms doesn't do that. She goes that would cause numbness and pain, she then looks at my walker and goes yeah that might cause weakness too. Then she goes lets test for dieabeties.
I am just beyond angery at her. First of all she isn't taking me sersiouly. I gave her 6 pages history of me that goes through all my problems, she didn't even read it. She takes something I already knew about, something that has never really caused any major problems and tells me that's the cause. I go in for a mri on Monday, I'm going to get the cd and report and go find a new neuro I am furious at this one.

Usually I get a daily influx of emails on health topics. An article from Dr. Mercola really stood out recently though because it mentioned that fat cells have their own mitochondria. Not only was this the first I'd heard of this, he also mentioned that fat serves a purpose in our metabolism. Another new factoid for me. The bottom line for me was to appreciate that even our fat cells play a...

I just do not feel well and I really think that it's because I cried yesterday on my way to work about my Aunt who is in the hospital. I don't think that we will have her much longer. She is very frail. Now she needs help eating. So, this is the third time in a year that I felt this way after crying. I think crying releases toxins into my body. I also worked up a sweat at the gym...

Hope you can get a new neuro.
Best wishes,

PS In regards to initial diagnosis an MRI of both the brain and C-Spine with contrast and without would be your best test. After diagnosis try to look into OCT scan (non-invasive, no dyes that are bad for your nerves and very cheap compared to MRI) from a neuro ophthalmologist to track nerve damage. It is a 5 min scan of eye that looks at damage to the RNFL.
I always seem to get the winners. I gave her all my medical records, wrote down a easy to read history of everything as I saw or remembered. She looked at it for 5 seconds, goes well that could be anything. She orders the wrong mri, no contrast. She out right refused a spinal tap, looking at me saying "unless their is a reason we can't do that". After the nerve test she looks at me and goes well it's either diabetes or it's just dumb luck. I told her I was just tested for diabetes a month ago, it was normal. She didn't listen. I was really mad at her. I got send their for a once and for all test to rule out ms and she treats me like I'm stupid. My family doc seemed pretty mad too. Hopefully neuro number 2 at least takes me serisouly.
Thanks for listening I needed to vent
