Usually I get a daily influx of emails on health topics. An article from Dr. Mercola really stood out recently though because it mentioned that fat cells have their own mitochondria. Not only was this the first I'd heard of this, he also mentioned that fat serves a purpose in our metabolism. Another new factoid for me. The bottom line for me was to appreciate that even our fat cells play a...

I just do not feel well and I really think that it's because I cried yesterday on my way to work about my Aunt who is in the hospital. I don't think that we will have her much longer. She is very frail. Now she needs help eating. So, this is the third time in a year that I felt this way after crying. I think crying releases toxins into my body. I also worked up a sweat at the gym...

Vitamin D, check your levels.
Iron deficiency can also make you tired.
My daughter takes amantadine and it works good for her, only side effects she has is tremors with it,.she is ok with that, she prefers the energy.
Keep us posted and glad to see you again, alma
Why do you need to stop taking it after a few weeks? does it stop working? or does it make you nervous? Does it work at all? Is it no better than a strong cup of coffee or is it really a big helper? I dont drink coffee, so I would be worried about the nerves that come with some pep pills.
My vitamin D levels are great as is my iron. im just tired. I am very interested in hearing how folks are reacting to the meds they are given for fatigue.
I suffer from the fatigue too.
After much much effort I finally got an RX for Nuvigil. It was great at first, just great!
However, its effects have diminished a bit and I'm going to my doctor in a few days and will ask for the next level up (250 mg. once a day v. 150 mg. once a day -- cost is the same oddly).
I was tested for Vit. D levels and was 11 which is dangerously low.
I was on 500,000 IU of ergocalciferol (Vit. D via RX) for almost 2 years and still am taking 250,000 IU of it once every two weeks.
The doctor finally got my levels up but they got too high (80+) and I was dropped down to where I now am with the 250,000 IU every other week.
To be honest w/you, I feel no difference after 2 years of this vitamin D thing and many many painful blood draws. Ugh.
You might try to get Nuvigil if you have ins. that will pay for it. In my case, my supplemental coverage to Medicare wouldn't pay for it and I had to file at least 3 appeals and write many letters. However, my persistence paid off and I got it.
I hope you get plenty of rest. That is essential.
Take care my friend!!!
