i'm met my partner eight years ago through mutual circles but never did we really see each other as partners because we both were in long-term relationships. In the last two years we both have become single from those said long term relationships . And for about eight months we have been seeing each other. everything about us is really great and healthy compared to my last relationship. The hardest thing is that we do not live in the same state. We both have left our hometown which was Denver in the last year but we are not in the same spot. He moved a little over a year ago and when him and I first started talking I had plans to move to southern California in October. I never expected our relationship to develop into what it is now. I've never loved someone and the way that I love him and in the past I haven't minded distance in my relationships even if we were living in the same state but with him it is really hard to be away from him and as time goes on and the more I love him.. it gets harder. I do battle with depression but I feel like lately it seems amplified when I am away from him. sometimes I find it's even hard to sleep. I've always considered myself a very independent person so feeling like this is a little out of my realm as well as my comfort zone. I joined this so that I could vent and hopefully relate to some of your stories.

So I went today to pick up the images of my heart to bring for the second opinion, and they said that they would be at the desk. They assured me that they would be there and that they would be open until 5 PM. I bypassed their stupid AI receptionist that gets everything wrong, and talked to the medical records person, and purposefully spoke to her to make sure we were on the same page, since I...

I had a really good therapist last year year briefly, but when my insurance changed, I lost her. It was nearly impossible to find someone who could meet after work and wanted to meet in person. It took me five months. I finally found someone through a firm that I used to use and they opened up a location right near my house, like 15 minutes away and she had appointments at 5 and 6. It was ok...

How often do you two see each other now?
Yes, I would think this is not what you would hope the relationship could be, as in living in the same town, and that could definitely cause your depression to get worse at times.
I would suggest keeping an active social circle. See your friends, family... go out, have fun, live your life. When you and your boyfriend are not together, go out and do fun things with friends. Have hobbies that you like to do. Have a life outside this relationship.
Make sure you are getting exercise, sleep, eat healthy foods, have hobbies.... basically, take good care of yourself, because you don't want your depression to get worse. If you do feel your depression getting worse, ask yourself if the long distance is what is making you feel more down than usual. You might need to get into therapy, too, to learn how to navigate a LDR.
Basically, ask yourself for how long will this be a LDR (will one of you be moving to where the other one is, soon? And, when will that happen?). Long distance relationships can be challenging. There needs to be a really strong, loyal commitment to each other. And you need to want the same things, have the same goals... such as to live near each other and on the same timetable, etc.
