Hi,
Never would I have ever thought about being in a long distance relationship, but here I am. I met my boyfriend in my home state out at the bars, at first I wasn't interested because I didn't want to do long distance, but somehow it worked. We've known each other since April 2021 and have been together since June 2021. The first few months he played football and was in his finale year of grad school so he was super busy everyday even on the weekends. I just graduated undergrad and was working full time. He is super sweet and caring. At the beginning we would talk almost all day everyday, but once we started getting more comfortable it went to a few times a day. I just recently started a new full time career and so has he. Even though I've been working longer, he's always been way busier and hasn't really had time to talk as much anymore. Now that we both work we will talk around our lunch breaks and then at night before bed most days. We talk even less on the weekends because that's when he is traveling to a new place for work and that's when I want to talk most. I've been getting frustrated the past few months because we don't talk as much as we used to, but he's reassured me multiple times it's not because he's ignoring me or doesn't want to talk..it's because he's busy. Which I understand, I guess I just have more free time to look at my phone. It gets harder because we see each other every 3 months so the longer we go without seeing each other the more anxious I get and the more I want to blow up his phone with texts. I know doing that won't solve anything. But I guess my question is how do y'all deal with your anxiety? I tend to overthink a lot and think of the worst when I don't get a response from him. I feel like I'm going to ruin our relationship if I keep thinking like that. Me and him have just recently talked about me being too needy sometimes and after that talk it made me realize I need to learn how to calm myself down and not think of the worst just because he doesn't have time to answer or falls asleep and forgetting to say goodnight. Any tips will honestly help.

So mad at Xfinity! They're trying to charge me $115 per month for the same service I had been paying $50 the last four years. I took the equipment to UPS for shipping and cancelled my subscription today! Next door was a cookie shop called Crumbl. I had heard of it before but never went in until today. I don't need one more sugar fix, but maybe it will help with my sad) grieving heart....$15...

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...

Long distance relationships are tough, even under the best of circumstances.
He needs to find time on the weekends to talk to you. I don't care how busy he is at work, he has time to talk.
I don't blame you for thinking the worst if you don't hear from him, especially late at night. All of your feelings are valid.
Can you possibly see each other more often than once every 3 months? He should be traveling to see you any chance he can get. Not seeing each other that often causes the relationship to not move forward.
I was in a long distance relationship with a guy I was engaged to. We saw each other every weekend. And it still fell apart after about 2 years. Your guy needs to - find the time - to come see you. Even for short visits... doesn't matter. You two are a new couple, and need in-person time together. He can make it happen. Just ask him to come out more often. Sometimes, we need to come out and ask for what we want and need. People can't read our minds :)
Best thing to do for anxiety and otherwise, is you have your own, full life, too. Besides work, make sure you go out with your friends, spend time with your family, work out, hobbies..... Make sure you have a full life outside of this relationship. He seems to be having a full life, and you should, too!
Being busy will also give you more interesting things to talk about, besides talking about work stuff.
Yes, see each other more often. You are in a new relationship (not established yet), so seeing each other as often as possible is really important for the growth of this relationship.
Stay busy! You will have to figure out how to stay patient and calm to be in a long distance relationship. Not easy to do, I have been there. But you can do this.... good luck.
