am all packed up and ready to turn in my keys in an hour when the office opens. I will put my laptop in the trunk and use it at the library, Someone told me computers quit working if they get overheated, I am worried about that with my laptop because it gets very hot in the car.

By any chance do you have one of those insulated bags you can buy for just a couple bucks at the grocery stores/Walmart that you could put your laptop in? They're generally used to keep frozen things from thawing for roughly a couple hrs. It would be something anyway. Try to keep it inside the car with you as much as possible instead of the trunk, it would be risky, heat wise, to keep it there for extended periods.

Hope you will be spending as much time as possible in the library or if there's a mall close by, hang out in there. Maybe rotate between the two during the day? If there's what used to be called a "soup kitchen" where homeless and needy folks can go for a meal and a bit of shelter can you go there, at least for respite from the heat and a free meal?
They seem to be all over these days thanks to the sickened economy and so many, like you, without jobs or resources.

I hope, just maybe, a Good Samaritan will come your way and be able to give you a lift "up" so to speak.

Oh how I LOVE yard sales! I would go every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday if I had the money and a way to get there! I have got both fans on. It's 94 outside and suppose to hit 103 by 5:00 pm, the hottest part of the day for us here. By Wednesday it should hit 110. Yuk... Wishing you all a wonderful weekend. Hugs GB

It will be 88 today, which is hot enough for me. Then tomorrow and Monday 101 and 100. It is 2:35 here on west coast and I did some of what I didn't do yesterday. Already went grocery shopping and 2 other stores. Got that out of the way early and before the heat. I bought some protein powder as I am trying to lose weight again.
Puglet, I also have chores and want to watch my San Francisco Giants baseball and I sure hope they win today! I sure love yard sales too. You can snatch some great deals.

It is five thirty pm now and I am just getting up...was awake all night last night....I have a meetup.com go cart racing event tonight then we will go to applebees for dinner....

It is early evening here. I helped my Cousin with a yard sale she was having to raise money for dementia, that is what Her Mom (My Aunt) has. It is sad. I recently lost my Uncle too. I am not married, I have no children so I am feeling these losses deeply. My family does not understand me nor do they try to. It has always been me alone. I am not trying to be so empty in my reply. Just trying to reply to the question asked to check in. I hope everyone is doing okay. Day by Day, right? .. sometimes second by second ...

my fourth of july I am driving about 100miles to Mt. Vernon IL to give my AA speech to a pot luck dinner of friends in Mt. Vernon AA program....I used to go to meetings there when I drove thru to deliver eyeglasses as my job for 2yrs....went to their meetings four days a week or so for 1 1/2yrs....many friends there....so will be fun and I am taking a woman from my meetup group with me who has 30yrs sober but seems she does not go to meetings now...
