I also was a stay at home mom with 3 kids in my day. I am now a grandparent age, retirement age. It is good to reach out and make new friends because eventually the kids grow up and then we have to make new friends again. Or you retire from your job and have nothing to do and no one to do it with.
It seems like we go through stages and transitions. I think there are still some groups for moms and kids to play at the park together or have topics to discuss at meetings. I remember one is called Mothers or Moms of Preschoolers. I used to do La Leche League when I was a nursing mom. But so many things have changed, the pandemic blew away a lot of in person social groups. Some churches may have parent groups.
Now I find that my older adult social group was hit hard by the pandemic. They were all afraid to meet in person, go to the library, etc. I've noticed I have to work harder to keep friendships going and I have not had the energy lately.. I have a friend who has not texted back in a while. It feels lonely. This is our social anxiety talking.
Oh, the libraries still have preschooler story time where I live. I see a few nice looking moms or dads who attend when I go to the library at the same time. It is not as big as it used to be.
We help each other by writing and responding to others. You can also do a journal on here. I'll send you a friend request.
