I am nervous to go to a doctor.

Hello guys, I really need your help. Recently, I have undergone a hearing loss treatment. I never imagined in my life that I had to go through something like this. What bothers me more than that is even though I have gone through a hearing loss treatment, I still have some problem with hearing. I discussed this with my audiologists but it was unsatisfactory. Now, I have realized, I made a real mistake by going to him and I don’t want to take any risk this time. I am already anxious after I got to know that I have hearing disabilities. It may affect my career and personal life. So, I want to better my hearing abilities before things go out of my control. I got to know about a hearing aid specialist in Toronto. I am planning to visit him on coming Monday. But, I am nervous. What should I look for to avoid the same mistake again? Your help will be really appreciated

I don't have any advice or experience of this, but maybe just roll with the process and realise it may take a few tries to find the right doctor for you. Make sure the communication is very clear about what to expect, Good luck

Do your research. Go to your appointment prepared with questions and share your previous bad experience with the specialist. Make sure your expectations about the treatment are realistic. Talk this through before you go ahead with a procedure or treatment. If in doubt keep asking questions. They may even have testament from previous patients.

It is normal to have anxiety seeing doctor. I have anxiety too. The hearing aid specialist will just be professional. And you do not have tell him your personal things. So do'nt worry.

your doing it right,,, if you first dont succeed try try again, just make sure you can return it if its wrong for you. never buy something like that unconditionally.

Just want to give you an update. The appointment went smooth. I will have to go again on Friday. The person in charge was really professional and attentive.

I am sorry for your issues. I would like to recommend that sometimes there are other minor things that are the causal unrelated to the area we have issues in.
And sometimes it just takes a lot of the wrong diagnosis to find the right one. But the doctor who first saw you may not be trained in what may be your minor cause and he will learn something new by it after you get your second opinion.
Don't lose heart, be open-minded. Keep notes of the things you notice as you go. You will probably figure this out before any doctor will.
