Loneliness Support Group
Loneliness is an emotional state in which a person experiences a powerful feeling of emptiness and isolation. Loneliness is more than the feeling of wanting company or wanting to do something with another person. Loneliness is a feeling of being cut off, disconnected and alienated from other people. The lonely person may find it difficult or even impossible to have any...

I've been good. Worked hard to adjust, rest, keep myself occupied, entertained, deal with the changes in my life, I'm content most days...just get on with life.
A former workmate said this must be particularly hard for you, because you love people so much, you're so outgoing. I don't care about being center stage or on the stage, but being a little lone face in the empty stands is a bit much.
My kitty won't talk to me...she's sweet, but she doesn't care about the play I'm reading or the way I changed up my hairstyle or why I'm blowing off paperwork or stuff regarding my health care and she doesn't talk to me while I cook or chop up any veggies. She doesn't laugh during the movies or offer to get me a drink while she's up or make popcorn. She applied for sweet kitty status, not to be my imaginary MIA human friend.
Sometimes you can do a million things right, but there is a disconnect that comes when you don't see people for days and days and days. My life is such a self contained little island. Limited mobility, illness keep the parameters pretty small and sometimes I just want a different view, the sound of real human laughter and voices......I feel starved for funny, witty, silly, spontaneous, outrageous, artistic, soulful, feisty and just regular easy going...talk that does not involve, revolve around or consist of poor sick little girl stuff...people who can see me, like to color outside the lines and think outside the box...I did not die mid-2010, I had to make some radical changes, get through the darkness and find the light.....
I still can't quite figure out how to be the age I am chronologically and yet live in a body that is 30 years older. I've come a long way and I have a lot of peace, shed a lot of burdens to make room for joy....
I wish my sisters could come (not possible) or someone who knows me and we could hang out....
I don't want to be a needy so and so...I am trying to be brave, but being a shut in is not all that sometimes. I've given up a lot and accepted my tail off, I'm just feeling blue...I need a traveling play group for the sick but far from dead, life ain't over, don't count me out, remember me...i remember you and shoot, I think I'm really sad.

I invited Bill to have dinner with me last Sunday. He wasn't willing to drive 7 hours to mid Michigan and teased me with his beautiful ribs!!! So, of course I ate alone and had cedar salmonĀ

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

You mentioned being sick...and certainly that kind of constraint can keep a person from experiencing a fuller social life. I would think that just means you simply have to try even harder to reach out to others. I know in my community, they provide transportation services for those with limited mobility. You should check to see what services your community provides. I say if you don't want to be counted out, get out! hehehe
I think the other part that might be good to work on is figuring out that whole age chronology thing. Part of not feeling lonely is feeling comfortable relating to other people, and I don't really know how comfortable you would feel hanging with people who haven't experiences some of the same kinds of life experiences you've had. Be good for you to find something that approximates a peer group for you!
And lastly, thank goodness for the Internet right? Cats can't type but there's a world of people out there mobile, not so mobile, and some plain couch potatoes, who might enjoy talking about movies or seeing pictures of your new hairstyle!
Pure honesty and insightful (for me anyway)
Missing plain fun and humor and acting like a kid is
the hardest part for me right now
Cats can only offer so much companionship. Mine only comes near me when it's feed time or when HE'S in the mood to cuddle. I find that my dogs are actually better company. Plus they're always doing something goofy that will make me laugh.
Your last paragraph really got to me. Love your idea for a mobile play group for shut ins! The closest we have where I live is the friendly visitor program. (Can't remember the name of it.) Do you have something similar near you?
Peace and blessings to you!
have great day and maybe some time I will talk to your cat about how to behave like a dog so that stupid cat can make you as happy as I make Billw....bye Shep with licks....
Would getting someone in to house share be an option for you?
Some company, just knowing someone else is there if you can't get up to make yourself some food, and hopefully someone you "click" with to have some laughs and stimulating conversation.
Have a great day!
