Yes, think about joining bookclubs or anything social or hobby groups. Get yourself out there. It takes effort and being friendly, calling or texting folks you meet. I’m in two bookclubs and have tried several others that didn’t work. I was doing a hobby group before the pandemic through my church and I do an online support group.
I’ll be honest, it took me 4 years to get to where I have 2 good friends and 2 other semi-close friends. I’m picky though. I got turned down by several people and the pandemic made some new friends lose their composure and our relationship ended. I’m looking for friends with high character and integrity and no drama behavior.
Make a plan on paper. Do one new thing each weekend that is social. Stay on here and respond to others. This is a community even if we don’t know each other in real life. But it gives support and new perspectives.
