Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) Support Group
Irritable bowel syndrome is a common intestinal disorder that is characterized by bloating, abdominal pain, diarrhea, cramping, and constipation. Typically no abnormalities appear during standard medical testing, and so irritable bowel syndrome is identified by the symptoms. Although irritable bowel syndrome can cause serious discomfort, the intestines are not harmed.
I have been drinking white tea. No caffeine and a nice light flavor. Hot or iced, I love it! I find it very soothing and calming; nice way to ease into the day as well as wind down from a crazy day.
And yes I get pressure down below by the public area-got that right now and it is the result of very badly trapped gas which I have had for days-it eventually will let up but waiting it out is awful.
So decaf tea is the answer? o my. Well I will have to put it on my goals list and give it the good ol try :)
Just rip off the bandaid and quit. If you feel better it will be worth it.
it was exactly the same for me. and I totally agree with ripping of the band aid and just give it up.
over the years I realise more and more that is the easiest way for me.....so many times I have tried to persevere with someone to know in the end its easier to just give it up!.............and today there are so many alternatives to try
I was told that soy milk (and anything with carageenan in it) as well as regular milk can also make IBS worse so I'm trying to get off of of that too and I only use it in my coffee.
That said, when I've tried quitting coffee cold turkey I get a bear of a headache so I'm cutting back a bit at a time. Down to about 6 ounces now.
I used to drink coffee all day long. Now I have about 3 ounces with breakfast and 3 ounces after dinner. The rest of the time it's water or tea.
