Infidelity Support Group
Any relationship in which one partner engages willfully in sexual relations with another outside of the partnership is considered to have experienced infidelity. This breach of trust is often traumatizing for the faithful partner as well as the relationship, and support is often needed to heal emotionally and to decide whether or not the relationship should continue after...
having a PLAN in place if I found out that the dirt bag had strayed.
I am looking up any yoga meditation instructions I can use........I am literally shaking with my negative thoughts.
As for as the OW reputation... I say who cares? It's not your responsibility to protect this woman. She is an equal partner with your H in this crap, and you don't love her. My wife messaged friends of the OW to let them know what type of hypocritical double life she was leading. Praise and worship in public, sleep with other women's husbands (that's right I wasn't the only one) in private. None of them believed it, but I think it helped my wife with just a little closure. If you don't call people out on their bad behavior, it will continue and more and more people will be hurt. Eventually someone may go off the deep end and we will hear about it on the news.
My wife also called out my best friend for his bad behavior and infidelity. It ended our 40 year friendship but it had to be done. We were friends since childhood and he supported me regardless. But he was not the type of support I needed. I needed some hard truth and he never offered it. He always offered "you're OK, it's only natural." What I needed was "Dude! that ain't right! you need to stop that."
Your H needs to get past the "HAD a great job lined up" thing. No he didn't! He had an affair lined up, not a job. Why do you need to "leave to somewhere new"? I think he needs to get off his ass and find a job where you are! Not some temporary assignment across the country. I was forced into a job change back in February due to company wide layoffs. I could've taken a number of very good jobs that would've required me to travel a lot. (I love travel and field service work) But that's one of the things that allowed me to cheat. Instead I took a job that brings me home every night. Of all the job offers I had it was not my first choice...but it was the right choice.
My advice to our kids is simple: if you're telling to get someone into trouble, don't. If you're telling to get someone out of trouble, or into trouble now but out of trouble later, then tell.
Impono I read your words closely being from a man and from someone who knows how men (in general at least) think. That is very important in my trying to get through this. I agree....he should "man up" and get busy helping build us a life. I'm not sure that's what he wants. In fact, an event just happened that convinces me he doesn't.
My 2 sons own a house (where we currently stay) and one of them has just told us he wants out of the mortgage. My other son can't carry it by himself so they will loose the house. This is a BIG deal to my H. as earlier in our lives we lost a dream house and he carries the guilt and pain of that with him more heavily than what he did to us. He is insisting he and I will pay my one son's share to keep it. He looked at me in front of my son and said through clenched teeth "I had a plan in place....I've had my life shit on...I don't intend on having my son's shit on too. If I have to f...ing stay here I will. But I HAD A PLAN IN PLACE THAT WOULD HAVE LOOKED AFTER THIS!!!!!"
I guess I really don't matter to him. I am beyond devastated......he hates that I've interfered in his life. Just like I'm not a part of it that he values at all.
What do I do with this? Our "plans" for starting fresh all gone. Burdened by this financial mess. HE is the one that wants to save the house so they don't have to feel like him. I would have gladly let the house go so that we could give our lives a fighting chance. That's all gone now. I think I see the truth. I am an "obligation" of some sort to him...another "thing" he doesn't want to feel guilty for. And he will NEVER forget or forgive that I shit on his life by destroying his chance at happiness.
The only way you are going to stop obsessing completely is when you stop caring and when you stop loving him. In the same way you can't force that you can't force the obsessing either. Only time will do it, but at some point you will reach saturation. First you will need to tell yourself, 'what if he goes with her...then he's no good for me'...and then....let it go
