Infidelity Support Group
Any relationship in which one partner engages willfully in sexual relations with another outside of the partnership is considered to have experienced infidelity. This breach of trust is often traumatizing for the faithful partner as well as the relationship, and support is often needed to heal emotionally and to decide whether or not the relationship should continue after...
My wife and I have been married for 14 years, and have 4 kids. Recently, I was going through old pictures of past family vacations out of nostalgia, and happened to come across a video that I didn't recognize. After watching it, I realized that my wife had cheated on me. She met a stranger at one of her co-worker's wedding, talked with him for 2 weeks, and apparently felt it was appropriate to go for drinks with him on Christmas Eve. One thing led to another, and here I am finding out about it a year and a half later...on my birthday no less. We've had some discussion about it, and came to the conclusion that we want to try to work through this and have begun therapy, both individual and couples therapy. I was wondering if there was any advice or tips that anyone can give on dealing with having the mental images, the fact that everything statistically points to it happening again (especially around the holidays,) and just...the pain in general. Also, does it ever get easier to physically touch your partner again? Thanks for any advice, tips, or help anyone can give me.

I'm horrified! I knew my insurance would go up due to getting a new car but I didn't expect it to go up over $2,000. I did have an accident with the snow/ice in the winter. I was just telling my brother that I have had my car since March 2, 2026 and have only spent $75 on an oil change. Now this! I called another insurance company and their quote was over $4,000. I guess I have to pay...

My advice is not to force yourself into forgiveness and allow yourself to feel what you feel. If she is truly remorseful and loves you, it will be very evident in her behavior towards you. You should be allowed to openly discuss anything you feel or think about. If she is determined to make it up to you, she will never tell you to “ get over it already ” even if it is a year down the road from now.
If she consistently shows her commitment to rebuild your relationship, eventually your sadness and visual stuff will subside and become less frequent.
I wish you all the best and hope your new relationship with your wife will be good!
I think their lying is one of the hardest things to get past. Now, you think everything they say is a lie. You don't believe them when they say they are not cheating anymore, or when they say they're going to the store, or out with friends... you wonder what they are really doing.
First thing, make sure she has NO contact with this guy anymore. Do they work together? Then she'll have to find another job. The "other man" must be completely, 100% out of the picture, first and foremost.
Next, go to couples counseling. And, get counseling for just yourself, also. Infidelity can be traumatizing, and especially when you had no idea this has been going on.
Let us know how you're doing. Take care of you first, and your kids.
