Violet, I share you sentiments. Through my general practitioner's over-zealousness, and my own stupidity for not reading the literature, I was taking a blood pressure medicine that probably caused the cirrhosis. Since I have hep, it would be impossible to prove that that was indeed the cause, but I feel certain in my own mind that it at least sped up the process. When I confronted her with it, she said that all BP meds. say that, and you just have to pick your battles. So I guess you either win the war against the high BPs or keep your liver healthy...neither are good choices. Well, I am now BP med-free, thanks to diet and exercise, and I'm also no longer her patient. I'm so jaded with the entire medical profession.

How much louder do you expect us to be, Vi?

I've shared my medical problems with pretty much everyone that I know, even though it's my own private business. I ask my friends and family to be tested for HCV and inform them on how to protect themselves from contracting HCV.

I don't consider myself weak even while I was on tx. SO FU for calling me weak and quiet and afraid.

Thanks Mo! You are so right that the "which pain reliever to use" issue is one that comes up often. I always appreciate it when you go out of your way to post links to help people be informed.

OoREBoOo...I am just as loud as you. Everyone who knows me knows of my HCV and I have taken the time to tell everyone who will listen about HCV and suggest that they get tested. Several of my nieces got together to get tattoos and, even though I was afraid that they would think I was a stick-in-the-mud, I told them of the risk they were taking and I made sure that they chose a reputable tattoo artist if they were going to go through with it. One of my nieces took my advice to heart and she called the local Health Department and spoke to the person who is in charge in HCV for this county to get herself educated on all aspects of HCV...including potential risks from tattooing.

I also continue to tell my step-daughter and my sons' girlfriends of the risks involved with pedicures which they are all "addicted to". At least now they take their own tools with them when getting their pedicures.

These things are small but they are baby steps towards the big picture. Progress is being made in my circle of the world.

    My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
