I bought vodka today too. It's good to be honest but recently someone here made a snide remark directed at me about vodka. I don't care. I'm not ashamed of my drinking...it is what it is.

Judgmental people are inconsequential to me.

We are not perfect beings, unfortunately...falling off the horse is inevitable in life with drinking, eating heathily, etc...it's HOW you DEAL with falling off the horse that matters! Get BACK on!!!! We're here for you!!!!

I love them...know I shouldn't eat them...but wtf...I do...trite you say...but it is a bad food for my liver...I know that...yet i eat them...sometimes...
Drinking always brings out the ...lol...well the masses...the comments...the scolders...the hand holders...like i said...we are adults...if ya want to drink...I aint gonna yell & say stop...you know what is up...Is that enabling???? fuck I dont think so...
I would drink if i could...I would...but i just get too sick & feel like shit even after a couple of drinks....TO ME...it isn't worth it...I had 2 captian & diets a couple weeks ago...just tears up my stomach...so i am done...for now...lol...

Hell call me an enabler...I am just real...we all know the facts...the 'pour gas' on the fire...but i appreciate the honesty...for years everyone lied about their drinking around here...cause everyone was beat to death about it...hell I rather be open & honest...we are adults...

I agree.....honesty is the best policy.

Just a suggestion and please don't jump all over me. I have done more than my share of drinking, even occasional drinks (on holiday) when I was stage 3 fibrosis.
Now that I am stage 4 cirrhosis I have stopped completely.
If you need a little sobering up , reality wise just go check out the Cirrhosis support group (as I did, joined and left) for some real horror stories.
If you have a problem stopping drinking get some help on that front first and when you feel like "not caring" now and then check out the cirrhosis group again.

Yeah, it is a wake up call Louie and Joe...scary shyt....but shoving guilt and programs down somebody's throat doesn't make them stop drinking. Unfortunately, not booze but the hemochromotosis put my liver in a rather fragile way. Heck, it boggles the crap outta me when I KNOW people that drink like fishes and pop pills like skittles and there livers are fine....and Im talking people with Hep for over 30 or 40 years...and they keep drinking away and doing whatever they want...but its a personal choice. I have to stand with Mema and Kat on this topic....if you come here bombed and want someone to just listen to you, who the feck are we to scold and condem? Thats BS...if your hear looking for someone to listen to you, you don't need a preaching. If you WANT AA or whatever other social services are out there, there are plenty of other websites and blogs out there with info on how to get your act together...till then, a good friend listens....
