Sorry to hear that.Better to get off now.Yes my BP went crazy on incivek,doctor had to adjust BP meds.Then when I finished incevik it went crazy again.Doctor had to readjust BP meds again.BP is in the normal range now.I have a home BP machine were I can check it every few days.

I'm so sorry to hear this, tulsa. We just don't know what to do or not do. I hope you do okay. I've almost stopped saying that I hope someone gets better soon. People say that to me, meaning well, but it's not like we have the flu that will run its course.

Before my trial I was getting ready to do triple tx and my GI (whom I've since fired) sent me to a cardiologist and ophthalmologist before I could start.

I think it's important for ANYONE who is going to take interferon and ribavirin with or without other drugs to do the same as the combination has known heart and eye problems associated with it.

I don't know what to say beautiful...I was really rooting for you. You know I dig you and I was feeling so optimistic about this trial

I am sorry to hear that. What happened? I am waiting for years for better TX, because I have cardiac issues and was afraid to do the SOC. Which trial where you on? It appears that new drugs, especially, nukes, cause heart problems. If I could take it, I would be smocking weed- had to stop years ago due to the same issue. Now I feel- there is no hope. If new drugs all have this side effect, we are in trouble. Please, tell some more about your TX and how it got to the heart attack. Did you have chest pains or other symptoms before it happened? Did you have any heart-related problems before TX, other than BP? What is your doctor saying? Did they encourage you to continue? Thanks.

TypeO- I was on GS-7977. Riba + Interferon + Gillead's trial drug. I was on week 4. I was sitting on my sofa with my husband and all of a sudden I had pain in my left shoulder, started going down my arm, pain began in my chest, light headed, Felt very warm, my husband tells me I was sweating, I felt nauseous the pain got worse as it went on. It did not last long at all. I stayed calm. I remember thinking if this lasts much longer I'm calling 911. Then it ended.
Trial coordinator got me to come in and see the dr. He was very quick to say it was not the drugs. A little too quick. That was my red flag. My husband was livid. They said nothing to me about quitting the trial. I have high blood pressure, no history of heart issues in my family at all. Oh, I do remember that earlier that day I noticed I had rapid pulse a couple of times. I was laying on the sofa doing nothing so that was a surprise to me.

GS7779 was my biggest hope, because it was the only one promising TX for genotypes other than 1A-B. I was actually considering to get on this trial. Their report were absolutely positive, not even one mentioning about any cardiac toxicity. I bet now at the time when other companies had to suspend investigational drug, the last thing, they would want to admit is that it had anything to do with your outcome. Interferon + Riba itself have listed cardiac events- it already established. What I would want to hear, is that it was SOC related and not GS7779. Nut GS7779 is a nuke (I think), similar class to the one that was just discontinued in another trial. My personal problem is that I get fast HR. I cannot even handle coffee. I cannot take Sudafed due to the same reason. If the drug has at least slight effect on heart rate- it would get me. I am so glad I did not go for it this time. The symptoms you described sound exactly like a heart attack. I just dont understand why it stopped. Good that it stopped and went away, but strange. Heart attack is usually due to a blockage. Did they check you for any blockages? How do they treat you? Thanks.

I can't believe any trial would let you continue, let alone encourage you to keep on. Wow!
